“why you buy concert ticket”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

I was at the Bar and we were talking about the Pentatonix concert, was sold out. and my girlfriend love to see it. I asked a round to see if I can get 2 tickets. HAHA one guy from the Bar said just look for Frank tip him and you can get in with good seats. I saved $54, and my girlfriend had fun, and we did not had to stay in that stubbed line.

thanks GSR

Room Tip: Check in early. and be nice to front desk.

The VIP check in was great. The staff was very helpful. The roomwas clean and beautiful. Ron Petrotti and Larry Rosborough are great hosts. The Cafe is run by Ron Zarate ( fantastic mgr and person). This was the best visit that I ever had at the GSR. I'm retired, and take one vacation a month, and I can say this place is one of the best. Next to airport, and not in seedy downtown.

Room Tip: Ask for a nice view of the pool

Ying `n Yang • it has it all. There are positives and negatives - ya pays $$$ `n takes chances. Remember - this is a RESORT, not simply a hotel. To start, seem to be quite a few coupon options (Groupon, etc) and their webside ... DO NOT CALL ... scope out the deals.

Enjoyed a nice remodeled 10th floor room - comfortable, king-size bed, and BEST shower/bath ever in a resort hotel complex. Be clear about non smoking floor ... WARNING: they put pets + smokers to a shared floor.Lots of guests smoke, saw many pets.

C = Casino, main floor - front desk, VIP services, location of Starbucks, local deli, bar, lounge, resturant row - several choices (some expensive), gift shop has doggie treats ... pet friendly.  Several enjoyed using buffet voucher coupons - plan ahead, saw many unhappy, hungry, very overweight, folks waiting in long lines - lengthly queue each morning.

Casino floor is small, but seems organized - slots in middle, poker, track bets, VIP tables off to side. Entertainment options ... bowling, arcade, laser tag, $4.00 tickets for 1st run movies, live entertainment area, outdoor stuff like bunjee, go-carts, drink range with moving targets..

Just for amenities, it's maybe worth a stay. Good to kids/teenagers, perhaps not so for adults. Young adults were loud / obnoxious hallway ... at 3AM! With shows listed, it seems to carter to young adults - heard this comment 5 times in elevator.

I like said at start - positives + negatives - at least, not to be many $$$ to check it out.

Room Tip: Go higher floors, avoid party goers ... South and west side floors warmer in winter, etc.

We checked in on Friday. Enjoyed a full day on the slopes, beautiful view of the mountains from the hotel and the weather was spectacular. I had a minor issue at checkout time but was able to resolve it with the help of Nichole. normally there is not an issue with a late checkout for whatever reason there was today. I took my wife to breakfast and she sent me a text that my checkout time had been adjusted for me. We love this place..

From LAX to Reno it's was a nightmare I was schedule to arrive Reno at 2:30p. I didn't arrive until 1130p, but no big deal took it like a champ. Arrival at the hotel was great the GSR has a complimentary shuttle that runs am/pm sorry I don't remember the hours. Check in was easy friendly staff. The rooms are at very good size a nice solid 3 star property, rooms are nice and big and so are the restrooms, flat screen TV's

The one thing I did notice the casino it's small on a couple of tables but I guess I'm competing to Vegas hotel. It's also about 3 miles from the main strip

I got an amazing deal thru Expedia 29 dollar per night. The one thing I can't get over is the 10 $ resort fee that many gambling resorts charge

We stayed at the GSR for 3 nights for a family ski trip. This was our first time here. We stayed at a Summit Suite room with a beautiful view of the mountains. The room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. What they call a suite is just a larger room than a regular room and includes a butler's pantry with a refrigerator and microwave. There is no separate living area. Our bathroom drain was a bit clogged but we managed without getting it corrected. The closet was very dark and could have used a light. This place is like a small city with lots of amenities and entertainment. Although we got a great deal in this nice hotel, I probably will not return due to the constant smokey smell that permeates the main (casino) floor. Smoking is allowed in the casino and the smoke travels all over the entire floor so when walking to/from our room through the main floor to go to our car, we always inhaled 2nd hand smoke. We ate just once at one of the restaurants and still smelled the smoke. It got too much for my son and me so we started placing tissue over our mouth and nose to reduce the smell when traveling through the lobby. Not sure if both of us getting bloody noses was related to the smoke, but I haven't had a bloody nose for years. It was hard to get the smell out of our nose (and head) when we got to our room. I asked the person at the front desk about the smokey smell and she said that the GSR had the least smokiness out of all the hotels and they can't do much about it. That wasn't very reassuring and I don't want to risk my family's health again in a smokey hotel, despite it probably being "normal" in the casino hotels.

Room Tip: They offer free valet parking which is great when you check in. However, if you rather self park, p...
