we stayed two nights at this resort. It was very centrally located to other casinos. The Sterling's restaraunt was phenomanal!!!!! we had the early special of oscar filet mignon!!! Also at Roxy's which is next door at the El Dorado I had a chocolate souffle which was great. They upgraded us to higher floor due to lower occupancy, so we had a great view!

Excellent decor, professional staff, greeters were pleasant when registering for your room - the champagne was an added treat. Centrally located to the bowling venue and other venues for the area.

Room Tip: Awesome hotel view of the mountains!!

A very nice place to stay in the center old downtown Reno and shopping and Casinos are walking distance. I checked out Harrahs and El Dorado and they were no way as nice as the Silver Legacy!

Room Tip: Get a Mountain view room!

I had an executive suite for a $25 per night up charge as they call it, but it was worth it.  You get a corner room and three large windows.  They were clean too, while I was there a guy dropped down on a rope and washed the outside.

Elevators were fast.  Ice machine was out, but there free water bottles and soda in the mini fridge.  Place was quiet, end od the halls usually are, awesome views of the surrounding mountains, large shower, knob seemed a little loose and there was a burned out bulb, well nobody's perfect.

Whirlpool tub worked well and seemed clean enough.

Reno is not a bad place to visit, the town was predicated on gamblers from California and those have been largely absorbed by the Indian casinos now leaving Reno in the lurch.

Room Tip: Go for the bigger room if you can.

Based on some of the reviews here, I had set my expectations pretty low and was pleasantly surprised.

Registration was prompt and courteous. I stayed in a spa suite which turned out to be a great move. Compared to regular rooms, there is considerably more space and the jacuzzi tub operated well. The bathroom was bigger than almost any I have seen, with a shower in which you could have a party. Nice big flat screen worked well, very good lighting and picturesque views (I was on the 30th floor). Bed and bedding were very comfortable, pillows were great, and the room temperature was satisfactory and steady - even through the night. I was in a non-smoking room which did not smell of smoke one bit even though there are smoking rooms in the hotel.

What really makes this property is the staff. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and seemed to try to go the extra mile. During my stay, a friend had a death in the family. Jarryd at the front desk was very kind, compassionate and helpful in accommodating the changed circumstances of my friend's visit. And Beau in the Valet was especially helpful in accommodating two friends who use scooters when we picked up the car for a short trip. He made sure the car was pulled up to the ramp and checked the scooters right there. When we returned, he had us pull up to the ramp again (even though it is not in the drop off area) and helped my friends retrieve the scooters which he had made sure were quickly accessible. On top of that, he was just plain friendly and knowledgeable.

The free airport shuttle bus service is invaluable, prompt and efficient. Internet access, while not the fastest (you can upgrade for $2/day more) was steady.

The location - right between the indoor-connected Circus Circus and El Dorado is fantastic. Everything within a short walk without having to go outside. Only downside - closest Starbucks is a 5 minute walk away, but the SIPS coffee bar was a decent alternative.

The only constructive comment I have - and not enough to take this down to four stars - is that the fitness center's machines are a bit old and some were not functioning at 100%. The pool is also on the small side. But how many people come here to swim anyway . . .?

I would definitely stay here again.

Just returned today from another stay at the Silver Legacy in Reno. It is a clean, safe place to stay in a great locations! You can visit 2 other casinos (Eldorado and Circus Circus) without even going outside and the Silver Legacy is in the middle of the two. Ask for internet passes (each good for 24 hours) when you check in though; other wise when you try to use the internet it asks you to pay $10 a day. Room service is good and unbelieveably fast. We have stayed at other places in Reno before and now never stay anywhere but The Silver Legacy.

We stayed at this hotel July 3-8, 2012. Nice hotel but our room was very small. Room for only one suitcase on stand in the closet. Since we were there so long, I put clothes in the drawers and other suitcases in a corner. Comfortable beds and pillows. Security at elevators and most of the time they asked to see the room key. Check in was easy and friendly. Convenient free shuttle to and from airport. One day we returned to the room at 6:30 p.m. and saw that it was not made up. Called housekeeping and when we returned about 9:00, room was cleaned. However, maid didn't leave any coffee or cups. Another morning I showered (good water pressure) and only then noticed that we were given one bath towel. Ate at the Cafe Sedona restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Prices were very reasonable, food good and service excellent. Also, enjoyed the bar that offered "build your own Bloody Mary" each morning for $4.50. Very well worth it if you like Bloody Marys!
We booked a tour through the concierge, Toni Lenzora, who was extremely friendly and helpful.
Also, liked the fact that I could visit three casinos without having to go outside. I didn't care for being charged a nightly "resort fee". I spent enough money on the tight slots and in the restaurants. Although I know this is just a way for hotels to make a few extra bucks it's a joke to call it a "resort". My pool at home is larger than that at the Silver Legacy and there really wasn't anything the hotel offered to call it a "resort". All in all, it's not a bad place to stay if you don't plan on spending much time in room.
