We had a late breakfast here - eggs, waffles, omelet, hash browns. Everything was good - nothing out of the ordinary for breakfast fare. The hubby had the hash browns, of which I tasted - they were really good. Appeared to have been homemade.

The people who work here seem to be very happy. Who we assumed to be the manage stopped by our table to make sure we had everything we needed.

If you spot a Black Bear Diner, do stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Been to about 4 Black Bears so far, in OR and CA and this one was just as top-notch. Delicious breakfast omelettes and scrambles, with huge homemade biscuits. Plus this one had one of the friendliest most upbeat waitresses we've had in a very long time!

You get a lot of home cooked food for small amount of money. If you leave hungry it's your own fault!

When ever we are on the road or visiting a new city, we always look for a black bear diner. Ever since we first visited the Black Bear Diner in Shasta, Ca that was the first of the chain and had just opened back in 1995, we have never been disappointed with the good food or good service. Always enough food for us to share one meal. The One in Sparks, NV. was no exception to the restaurants in the chain. We had a great breakfast and dinner the next day. We both loved the tri-tip steak that was spiced the way it is in Santa Maria, Ca.

We ordered from the lighter fare menu. I had the pork bbq ribs which were perhaps a little over-cooked and a bit fatty, but didn't stop me from eating it all. Good service, not terribly busy, which can be a plus. This is my 4th Black Bear diner to eat at. I like the decor and relatively low noise level, but the food itself is average. Steak at an Auburn, CA site was rubbery. Nice to have a lighter appetite fare for those not starving for a big dinner.
