Description: Philosophy of the Food: Tradition and Uncompromising Quality The philosophy of the food at Mirabelle is to respect the tradition of the restaurant and its food, as well as to respect the uncompromising quality of each ingredient that goes into each dish. At Mirabelle, it is not about the plate, or the flatware, or the stemware: it is about quality of the food on that plate, the quality of the wine in the stemware, and the quality, warmth and tradition of the service. Commitment to these ideas is what has brought Mirabelle this far and is what will sustain Mirabelle into the future. The menu at Mirabelle will feature as much local and seasonal product as possible to stay true to the concept of fine French food. Whenever possible whatever can be made to standard in-house, will be made in-house: i.E., All pastas, certain cured meats and charcuterie, and certain fresh cheeses. The menu at Mirabelle will always reflect what is at the peak of seasonality and as local as possible, which is the way the French have been cooking for hundreds of years, tradition. Because of this constant commitment to quality, seasonality and tradition, the menu is well thought out and tightly focused on the concept. It may seem, compared to some other similarly sized area restaurants, fairly small: do a few things, but do them extremely well. Or, for music lovers: play only the notes you want to play. Menu items are designed to be reasonably sized, to encourage the guest to order multiple courses. The menu will, for the most part, be a la carte style. At times throughout the year, due to seasonality and to reflect specific holidays, multi-course, fixed price menu will be offered along with the regular menu. Philosophy of the Service: Warm, friendly, professional and treats the guest as a guest. Each guest at Mirabelle is treated as you would a guest in your home. Hospitality is a lost art, and we at Mirabelle are bent on bringing this art back. When guests come to a restaurant they are hoping to be treated with great care and understanding. We want our guests to return not just because of the food, but because they love the hospitality they receive while they are with us. The service staff at Mirabelle is well-trained and knowledgeable about the food being served and preparations, as well as wine and spirit savvy. All of this combines to offer the guest a very special dining experience that can be enjoyed for any reason or no particular reason at all.

Mirabelle has been around for a long time with a loyal following, including my wife and I. You can't earn that loyalty with bad food or service. This is the place we go for a quiet meal to enjoy the casual intimacy of dining, talking, and the enjoyment of good food and wine. I read the review of the wine snob that went apoplectic over wine list...try the Lone Eagle Grill at the Hyatt in Incline or the Sage Room at Harveys. For my style and taste, I'll take Mirabell.

This place is a fraud. Can we start with a French restaurant without a good wine list? They had no wines you couldn't buy at a grocery store and their French wines were all Alsacian because that's where the chef was from. That region of France doesn't make very good wine.

The servers had bad French accents which changed every time they approached the table. Yes, really.

The food was all frozen or not prepared well at all. I had a schnitzel, much more German than French, which was over-fried and over salted. The menu had a few French items but was much more Continental and California.

The prices were outrageous for processed, mediocre food. The decor has stenciled grapes and framed posters of bistros that look like they came out of your local Home Goods.

Gordon Ramsay would cry. We tried to eat local but the casinos actually did a better job. : (

So glad that we had our Birthday dinner here rather than the much more expensive casino options. Flavors were well balanced. Presentation of plates were beautiful. Service, perfect! Prices for what you get are fantastic in our opinion!! Agree with the other high reviews and would certainly return again!

My husband and I lived in Germany, near the French border for a number of years, and loved exploring and dining in Alsace. So Mirabelle has been on our radar over the years of visiting South Lake Tahoe, and we finally ended up there last month on a quiet Halloween night. With lovely service from Linelle, a great 3 course menu for $31.50 included several choices for each course, as well as coffee or tea. We were happy with our mushroom cheese tarte, pork scallopini, and house made pasta, as well as cinnamon apple tarte and pot de chocolate for dessert. Our Hugel gewurtz from Riquewihr, and my husband's Mirabelle eau de vie also brought back happy memories of Alsace, and we enjoyed a complementary lemon sorbet as well.

Portions are large...everything was delicious and we'll be back!
