Although there are many sightings of the resident ghosts, I did not get to have any direct encounters, just a few bumps in the night that could have been just old building noises. The hotel is beautiful, clean, comfortable and historically delightful. The restaurant was a lovely experience as well. Try the Nevada Salad, it's a full meal. The staff were as accommodating as could be. I was there for only one night on business and will remember this gem when going through the area again.

Room Tip: For the children ghosts, request the third floor. For the miner men ghosts, request the fourth floo...

We stayed here some time ago and this place is amazing. It takes you back in time and is very romantic. The food is outstanding. Definitely worth a stop even if it is just to eat! There are some interesting things to see about town as well. A slice of history.

This place is amazing, completely redone to its original glory from the early 1900's. The Cline (Winery) family bought it a few years ago and totally refurbished it. It is beautiful. Our room was a little small, but very quiet and clean.
Unfortunately the restaurant left a bit to be desired. Service was really bad, waited a good 15 minutes for a server. It was the busser that ended up helping us the most, she was delightful. Ordered app and soup, then cobb salads. Specifically asked for the mushroom app and soup first, they all came together. Tempura Mushrooms were NOT tempura, more like a beer batter, the Chicken and Roasted Potato was lacking both. Not many options in Tonapah, but they should have there standards that meet that of the hotels.

My husband and I stopped for lunch at the Mizpah Café last week on our way to a camping weekend with our son and his family. The staff (especially Louise, aka Weesie) were awesome. The lunch (Mizpah Burger and BLT w/Garlic Fries) was FABULOUS. Don't stop here if you're in a big stomping hurry, but if you have a little time and want AMAZING food, personal service, and a glimpse into Tonopah's history it's a MUST!!!

The Mizpah is a beautifully restored historic hotel with comfortable king bed rooms. Be sure to walk the stairs so you can see the antiques on every floor. Our friends stayed in the "Lady in Red" room and the room and furniture were very pretty. We traveled with 10 friends on 7 motorcycles and had a great trip riding through the desert and mountains. When we arrived at the Mizpah, we enjoyed relaxing and visiting in the comfortable lounge area next to the bar. The staff persons at the Mizpah were friendly, helpful, efficient and even mailed a postcard for me. If you are in the area, don't miss this lovely historic gem.

in the past have ordered chicken wings, and enjoyed very much. but yesterday on a return trip from Oregon (7/22/14) my daughter and I thought we would stop to order a to-go box of wings, (6 wings 12 plus $) because we were on a tight schedule. on the road, we opened the box, they were almost BLACK!!! tried one! was like trying to chew jerky off a bone! I am sure the COOK or WAITRESS, would have noticed this before they put it in the box! we were to far down the road, to return! (gold field) BEWARE!

This historic hotel has been carefully preserved and restored and was such a pleasure to stay at. We have traveled to Tonopah many times and for years this hotel was sadly closed but the new owners have done a really incredible job of bringing the hotel back to life. The room we had was small but very well appointed with a comfy bed and upscale linens - everything was so much more than we expected. Staying in historic hotels you can have many experiences but if you are looking for history WITHOUT the moth balls I would totally recommend this hotel. I believe the bar is all original to the hotel and had a wonderful selection of wine and of course cocktails and we found the restaurant to be well priced with good food.

Room Tip: Live music on some week ends so I would make sure I didn't get a room over the band area if one...
