Des Roses Hotel
Ranked #1 of 1 Platanias B&B and Inns
Reviewed 17 August 2013

This is a delightful hotel which combines straightforward, modern comfort with traditional warmth and friendliness. It is set in the beautiful and unspoiled village of Platanias, which has easy access to good beaches and a small number of very pleasant tavernas, and is an extremely relaxing and pleasant place to stay. The owners are particularly hospitable and helpful, and the hotel has a lovely ambience - its decor and features reflecting local crafts and traditions. The leisurely breakfast on the hotel's terrace, surrounded by flowers and birdsong, makes a very uplifting start to the day. We have now visited the Hotel Des Roses for three consecutive summers and continue to find it a haven of friendly tranquility and excellent service.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies at the front of the hotel have the best outlook.

We stayed there for one week, several families with small children (from 2y to 9y). Platanias is a small fisherman village, not a crowded touristic area. There are very few shops and some small restaurants serving perfect sea food and fish. The hotel is a simple hotel, having all necessary accommodation/furniture, AC. Yanna and Nikos, the owners, are great, veeery friendly, meals were very good with lots of vegetables, fruits and fish. Nikos took us on a small trip to a hidden cage in the sea, with a very interesting history from the Greek mythology. The place is surrounded by small beaches, not crowded, giving the impression of private beaches. Perfect location for families with children, or for people looking for a quieter place, far from the tourist crowed.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors have a sea view, with a great balcony
