We took an unexpected detour on our car trip after I saw Virginia City on the map. I thought, wow, I want to go there, remembering the Westerns of the '60s such as Bonanza and The Virginian.
What a great place and so authentic. Wooden boardwalks and great little stores and unusual neat things. Good workmanship. We were in a hurry and didn't spend as much time as I would have liked.
One needs about 3 hours to stroll leisurely and then have a bite to eat somewhere. So maybe 4 hours.
Great place I'd recommend to visit.
