“Beautiful Rooms”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

We went out to Wendover from the Salt Lake City area to see a show. We decided to stay at Montego Bay for the night. We were very pleased with our room. It was very large and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was also very large, with luxurious marble.
After our good experience at Montego Bay I would like to return again sometime and stay at Montego Bay again.

We rolled in with a 22' car hauler, doing the Bonneville thang. Check in was easy, they were cool with us parking the truck and trailer out at the edge of the parking lot. The rooms were large, the entire floor was smoke free, apparently. The rooms are starting to show some age, could use a bit of attention and updating, but pretty nice. The bed was WAY too soft for me, but I'm a firm bed guy.

They only had a kinda pricey breakfast buffet, so we just fast food and drove the next day. But I got a great price, and I'd stay there again, no problem.

West Wendover was a passing through spot for us and we choose the Montego Bay, as it was the newest of the 3 casino hotels in the city. We had a large comfortable room on the 7th floor (the top floor) with king size bed. Very good value for room this size.

Other than dinner in the casino restaurant, we did not partake of the gambling, pool, fitness center, etc.

The majority of people were seniors, like ourselves. Not sure if this is always the case, or just due to midweek and the time of year (after school has started).

At 4:30am in the morning we were awakend by the fire alarm. We did not hear any announcements about whether to evacuate or not so we walked down all seven flights of stairs. Some guests had said they had heard right away it was a false alarm but we did not. My biggest concerns were that as we exited the building, there were no fire trucks present (I guess a good sign that it was a false alarm), and no employees to either direct us or give us information. Another guest said that these false alarms have happened in the past here. Not sure if technical problems or someone pulling the alarm.

It appeared that the hotel was having difficulty shutting the alarm off as it periodically would go off. Finally after 20 or so minutes, people started going back into the hotel. Only 1 hotel employee ever said, "Sorry for the inconvenience" and even that was about time it was taking the elevators to get back online. As we walked back in, it appeared that gabmbling had never even stopped during the event.

While the hotel itself was nice, comfortable, and a good value, I don't think management responded well in communication to the guests. Having said this, at no time did I feel in danger. There were no problems exiting the building.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for non-smoking if you are not a smoker.

Whenever we are in Wendover, we try to stay at the Montego Bay, the rooms are exceptionally decorated and comfortable. Very clean. Great value. We enjoyed a beautiful kind room overlooking the rooftop swimming pool. Even with a casino downstairs, the hotel was very quiet which allowed for a very comfortable night. Check in was a breeze, and the folks behind the desk are very friendly.

I recently stayed two nights in Montego Bay, and had a great experience. The room and bathroom were very large and spacious, the bed was super-comfortable, and the room was very clean. I did not notice a big smoke problem in the casino, but I was there on a Wednesday and Thursday, it might be worse on the weekend when the casino is more crowded. I will definitely stay at the Montego Bay next time I'm in Wendover.

We have stayed at the Montego Bay in Wendover, NV. numerous times and have never been disappointed in any way. Spacious and bright rooms with quiet heating and A/C units. Wonderful food at the buffet and restaurant. Beginning with our flight from Duluth, MN. was very relaxing and ending with our return home I would give this a five star rating. Fun new machines to play that are constantly up to date. Easily jump on one of their shuttles that will pick up and drop off not only at their other hotels in town but churches or other places that one would like. They have wonderful hosts that are able to assist in upgrading and accommodating with your trip . We have dealt with Judy Bartlome and Chad Duvall and are very pleased with their assistance with our stays. This has got to be the best Players Club card in the Casino industry with the comps for Restaurant and gift shop points.

Room Tip: Be sure to use a Players Club card on all of your stays!

My hubby & I stumbled across this weekend get away while considering a trip to Reno. We had no idea that Allegiant air was flying into Wendover or had even heard of Wendover at all. Once we started looking into the package information, we were pleasantly surprised to get a four day, three night stay at the Montego Bay Hotel & Casino for just under $340.00.
We choose the Montego Bay Hotel since they had a lovely outdoor pool and once we saw it, we were not disappointed. It was clean, clear and big enough to accommodate everyone around the pool even though the crowd was more into basking in the sun instead of swimming. There were fresh towels, cold water and even a small bar for drinks around the pool.
Our room was a double king and again I was pleasantly surprised as it was spacious and clean.
The bathroom was very large and even had a telephone in the loo too. Thankfully the blackout curtains worked like a charm to keep he early morning sun out of our room and the air conditioner worked great too as it kept the room so cool I actually had to turn it off for awhile each evening prior to bed.
There was a pastry shop at the bottom of the elevators which had wonderful pastries, muffins, fresh cut fruit and cakes too.
drinks on the casino floor are free for those people who are gambling, however I would recommend ordering two at once since the waitresses are very sparce when the evening arrives. Remember to tip each time they deliver your drink so that they keep coming back to check on you. Also, keep in mind that they are working for minimum wage and they do live off their tips.
There is a free shuttle every twenty minutes that goes from casino to casino and even to the concert hall so no need to worry about renting a car or drinking and driving. The casinos are close enough to walk to however the heat and humidity while we were there made the decision an easy one.
The restaurants on site were very good and the prices were good in comparison to portion sizes.
We will definitely go back for another get away at a future date.

Room Tip: Our fifth floor room offered a great view of the front parking lot and also of the local mountain ra...
