We really enjoyed this hotel. I thought the room was quite nice, we took one "advisors" recommendation from Trip Advisor and asked for a room in the new wing. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We asked for a room in the "new wing" and were put on the very end of the hallway, so we d...

We stayed here beginning of June for a night after leaving Salt Lake City to see the salt flats, then drive through the desert to Las Vegas the next morning. We were given a room overlooking the pool so not a bad view. The hotel hallways are a bit of a maze but you tend to find that in a lot a large hotels we have found. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. Used the pool and found it well kept and had a bar there for drinks. Did not see a waitress, you had to get your own drinks. Tried the buffet for dinner and it was OK. Just bought a coffee in the morning so didnt try anywhere for breakfast.
One thing we did notice was how clean the air was in the casino's taking into account they are older properties with lower ceilings. No smokey atmosphere at all.

After a 12 hour, 644 mile drive, we found this hotel very comfortable. Our room on the fourth floor has two king beds and is very spacious. It faces the highway and there is no road noise. The buffet closes at 9PM so we ate at the Paradise Grill. It offers breakfast all day and a great variety on the menu. Pool opens at 11AM and closes at 10PM so we missed out this time. Played and won on a penny machine so the room, dinner, breakfast tomorrow and the fuel to get here is paid for. Great stay!

This was our second time staying at Montego Bay Resort. (We are in our 50's). The Hotel is beautiful - rooms are lovely, big and very clean. Housekeeping Staff very Friendly. The Front Reception Staff are fabulous - very friendly, very welcoming, very helpful. The rest of the experience was not so wonderful. When we spend 4 hours in the Casino, putting our money into the machines, we expect decent Beverage Service. In the 4 hours we spent in the Casino, we got served TWICE and the second time was not pleasant. We had been waiting for a very long time and finally asked the Beverage Server in charge of the Card Tables if she would kindly send a Server over which she did. But the Server seemed very annoyed with having to serve us, was very rude. After that we decided to retire to our room for the evening and for the rest of our stay, we gambled and ate at the Peppermill and Red Garter. The staff at the Oceano Buffet (Montego Bay Resort) - particularly the Cashiers - were also unfriendly and took a very long time to have coffee/water service at our table. If you gamble at the Card Tables, you get wonderful Beverage Service but playing the Slots, the service is terrible and Servers not as friendly as other casinos. Even the Gift Shop Cashier wouldn't give us a smile, so we took our business elsewhere. Each day we walked down to the Peppermill and Red Garter Casino to eat and gamble and took the Shuttle Bus back to Montego Bay at the end of our evening. The Shuttle Bus service to all the Hotels/Casino is wonderful and arrives every 10 minutes and runs all night. Staff at the Peppermill and Red Garter were excellent and really looked after us well. We will stay elsewhere the next time we visit Wendover.

We have stayed more than a few times and the Montego Bay Resort in West Wendover and each time has been an enjoyable experience. Reservations and check-in are very smooth, one’s only concern is how far from the casino central area your room will be. All the rooms are well appointed with your double king beds. We found the room to be very clean. The bathroom has two sinks with a coffee maker and the usual amenities, there are quality towels which are thick. There is a small table with two comfortable chairs and a large flat screen TV on the wall opposite the beds. Location of the TV is standard, most hotels I’d think only want you to watch TV from the bed.

One of the reasons for coming the Wendover is likely the Montego Bay Casino where all manner of games are available. There are a total of five casinos in Wendover with a shuttle bus to carry you about. There are plenty of food options that you’d need to check out yourself, you can’t go wrong.

Should you wish to visit the local area, the Wendover Airbase had a very important part in the activities leading up to the end of the War in the Pacific. The small museum in the airport terminal building. Of current interest is the Bonneville Salt Flats which is a few miles from the hotel, racing on the salt flats is a high point for speed buffs(August 9-15 is the Speed Week) - good luck in getting a room. If you happen to wander off the beaten trail you may encounter some of the local wildlife.

Any of the three Casino Resorts in West Wendover (Rainbow, Peppermill or Montego Bay) are all class hotels. I would recommend coming on a weekend so you can take in a show at the Concert Hall. This small 1,000 seat theatre has some of the best entertainment, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

Give me a break! The place is terrible. Garish, under maintained and short staffed. Don't get sucked in by the low promotion rates. Our room on the fifth floor had no air conditioning working. No Windows that opened and the smoke/fire alarm went off at intervals all night. Front desk could not address any problems. Terrible stay. Cross the state line and stay in a Utah motel if you must stop in the area. The casinos are all poor quality here both in the casinos and the hotel rooms. The die hard gamblers from the area come for their fix anyway and ignore the problems so the casino management does also. If your traveling through the area move on!

Room Tip: Book one someplace else.

Thank you for your recent review on Trip Advisor regarding Montego Bay Hotel and Casino. I am disappointed to learn that we did not deliver the fun, comfortable and customer service friendly environment that we strive for each and every day.

I certainly understand your frustration with the fire alarms and it is an issue that has been addressed with Management and will continue to be an area of priority. Please know this is not a norm for our Hotels.

It is my hope that you will return to Montego Bay and the Resorts at Wendover and allow us the opportunity to better serve you. I have sent you a direct message through Trip Advisor with my contact information and would very much appreciate any further information you can provide me. Your feedback is valuable and helpful to the continued improvement of our establishment and helps us to improve and provide the best experience we can for each and every guest.

Again, thank you for your time and review. I hope to hear from you in the near future.

We were hesitant about this Allegiant Airline Flight "gambling junket" so, before booking we read some 400 reviews from fellow travelers. Most were good, some not good, in the end, we booked and so very happy that we did ~ gets a 5 star from us (and we don't give them out lightly).
Caveat ~ we were on the Wendover flight program and paid an upgrade fee for a double king room w/h jucuzzi - basic cost for 2 was $109 pp - up-grade was $236 per person - well worth the over-all cost of $468 for round-trip air and luxurious accomodatinon for 2 for 3 nites. Room was beautiful (just like the photographs which disproves one negative review), air-conditioning worked as expected w/h no problems, no problem with the plumbing; over-all, our room was everything one could want.

Gambling is gambling but have to say the cocktail service was exceptional - we never had an empty glass but we also tip $2 per drink (even when ordering a soda) w/o exception so those who complain about service might want to examine their tipping practices? Yes, the drinks are "free" but those who serve them work hard for their pay which is basically their tips..

About Romano's - the fine dining restaurant? It really is and well worth the extra expense for at least one dinner - it is one of the most beautiful restaurants in which we have EVER dined. The food only gets 3 stars but the atmosphere and service are 5 star without question....

Now for the nitty gritty which I expect on these reviews ~ those "other" details" like "is there a grocery nearby?" Fred's is no more (For Rent Sign in Window) but the gas station across the street has a convenience store to buy milk, sundries and soda pop - be forewarned, Coke drinkers, PRM obviously has an exclusive agreement with Pepsi - if you want Coke, you will need to buy it here or somewhere else - you will not find it on PRM properties. Our "top of line room" had a refrigerator - a very nice one but no microwave - hey, it's a casino, they don't want you to hole up in your room....Bottom line, 3 very nice restaurants are right there with great cocktail service and pleasant gambling atmosphere - we will definately be back.

Only regret? Wish I had packed a swimsuit, cover-up and flops ~ THAT POOL would have been worth the extra effort ~ it is every bit as beautiful as the photographs show. Next time...

And now for the tricky issue ~ smoking. Well, I do smoke and so does 20% of the US population and that 20% usually has one or more non-smoking individuals accompanying them so we are talking about 30-35% of the general public and everyone has the choice when booking their hotel room (smoking or non-smoking) but RPM has done what few other entities have done. I dare any one to walk through any one of their casinos and then say "it's smoky" because none of them are.... the ventilation systems are beyond top-notch and it is clear from the ground up. Bottom line, these casinos are quality ~ who would have thought to find such attention to detail out in the "middle of nowhere" ~ don't think it will be nameless once word gets around !!!
