“convenient, comfortable, 1block from beach condo”
Reviewed 18 February 2013

If you like nature walk , this place is the vacation place for you. It is very close to the lake, about 1 block away, close to grocery stores ( Safeway). It has very beautiful scenery with beautiful white mountain peaks during fall and spring, and snow in the winter. The casinos and mall are less than 5 miles away. During winter time , you need snow chains or snow tires to get to this place. My favorite time to visit is spring, summer and fall. There is still a little bit of snow to play with during springtime. Summer time is my most favorite because I enjoy walking to the beach. Also there are Calif brown bears around the area, so make sure you close the covered trash area. I enjoy looking at pine trees and the cool breeze. The resort does not have air conditioning but does have ceiling fans and portable room fans. It is generally cool in this area. There may be 2-3 days in the year that it gets in the low 80's but it gets cool at night. There is a good size outside swimming pool but close during winter. There are 2 spas that are usually open all year round. This place is clean and the staff is very friendly . There is play room , computer terminal, free wifi for each condo , and an exercise room. The name has changed to Wyndham South Shore.

Room Tip: upper floors have better views and there are elevators.

Three couples visited for a week at the Worldmark South Shore. We had a great time. The hot tubs were a hit after a day of skiing. The location was great whether you wanted to travel down the mountain for shopping, to the casinos, the gondola for heading up to Heavenly or just hiking down by the lake. We had a three bedroom - so one had a queen, one a king and one had two twin beds. It would have been nice to have one more bathroom but we knew that going in. The kitchen was well appointed and the staff readily brought us a crock pot and mixer when needed. We will definitely stay at this facility again.

Our unit was 3 bedroom, 2 bath with living, dining, and full kitchen. Plenty of space for grandchildren to play indoors and not feel cramped. Outdoors the pools and hot tubs were still opened due to lack of snow, which the family enjoyed. There were also cards in the office of suggested walks/hikes developed by the staff. Family enjoyed several of the suggested walks.
The grounds are well kept as are the units. The staff is immediately responsive to any problems that occur and eager to help. We received several calls checking that all was well and if there was anything they could do to assist.
Safeway is a short trip across highway 50 for all of your needs. If you need medical services, Barton Memorial is back on the California side a short drive and gives fantastic care.
Being Wyndham owners, we did go to the "update." Our representative, Dan, was the best we have ever had from the Wyndham company. He makes you feel part of a family and around for the long haul and not just another sale. Kudos!
Thoroughly enjoyed this adventure @ Zepher Cove.

Nestled in the pines, this is a very nice quiet facility (unless the racket from woodpeckers, quail and chickadees bother you). The two of us stayed in a one bedroom unit that had a Murphy bed installed in one wall, a generous living room with gas fireplace, a flat panel TV & DVD player, a full size kitchen and small dining area. We were close enough to one of several WiFi hot spots but we decided to use the corded Internet connection located in the living room. What pleasantly surprised us was that on the balconies of the units, there were electric barbeque grills. And it looked like many guests were using them.

Grocery stores are close by and it is only a quick trip down the road to find casinos and restaurants.

We will go back, and on our next visit we are going to check out a two bedroom unit.

We stayed 2 nights here in a very nice, clean 3 bdrm deluxe top second floor end unit. There were steps to climb so it was great to work out the calories consumed at Harrah's Buffet. My mother chose the back bdrm with two twin beds looking out into the wooded hills. I had the master bdrm front which bordered the open outside corridor. If you don't mind hearing people talking past your window with heavy footsteps, you should be able to go to sleep. We enjoyed the gas fireplace, well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa and lovely decorated decor, flat screen tvs in every room, brightly lit bathrooms which started out dim at first (I was so happy to see shampoo. conditioner, and lotion supplied, unlike at Worldmark properties), the high ceilings, bbq and small table & 4 chairs out in the balcony off the dining room area, and washer & dryer in the unit. A well stocked Safeway is just a short distance away in an otherwise dying strip mall, save for a Subway and two other small eateries. The only negative part about Wyndham South Shore was the garbage truck arriving at 7:15 am.
The front desk and the activities desk staff were absolutely wonderful and friendly and helpful with tips. Because of them we were informed of a $30 fixed price dinner special at the Chart House on Kingsbury Grade. The appetizers were scrumptious. The 8 oz prime rib and the almost pound of fantastic salmon cooked just right and still rare were heaven. And the desserts of raspberry creme bulee and mud pie were to die for. And the view of the lake from our window table part of the great deal - just gorgeous. We took the drive to Emerald Bay on 89 and were in awe of the cliffs and island and mansion in the bay. A short time later we booked on Bleu Wave Cuises the Lake Tahoe lunch cruise on a luxury yacht and viewed the island and mansion up close and personal. Absolutely satisfying experience! Delicious cold cuts sandwiches, veggies, and drinks abound.
The timeshare presentation was short and sweet. We received a $50 AmerEXpress card and goody cooler bag with coupons inside for our less than hour time. This was our first time to this Wyndham property and we will return! We still need to drive around the whole lake. Takes three hours with stops.

My review is merely not enough to describe my stay at Wyndham Resort. To begin with, the resort was located inside the woods, ideal place for walking along the lake. The staff was amazing and very friendly, providing us with all necessary details about sightseeing and outdoor activities. Furthermore, when we entered the room, we were impressed by the large rooms and sunny living room with a fireplace, what could anyone ask for more? Also the rooms were very tidy, clean, private and very cosy.

We stayed at the Wyndham South Shore with our young adult son for a ski trip. He loved the skiing. The resort is close to the slopes, downtown shopping, and restaurants. We had a lot of snow while we were there but the resort and town were great about keeping the snow plowed. Would definitely stay here again.
