We had great family time. Hotel is clean. It was busy, kids vacation, but in reasonable time. Kids had great time on slopes in ski school and mostly in the outdoor pool and hot tubs. Room was big with the kitchen and refrigerator, saved us few dollars. Breakfast is decent and wholesome. There is little snack/sandwich shop in the hotel by the ski check where you can have hot drink without going to the busy ski area at the bottom of the mountain. We loved the area too...outlets, restaurants, tubing, skating. Hotel had some kids fun for few hours on couple of nights for $2 a child. Overall it was a great week. We will probably be going this winter also, since you can't beat the price and slope-side level of comfort and great rooms.

We stayed here overnight on a visit to Storyland. The hotel was nothing fancy, but was just what we needed. For the price, it was an excellent value. We had a HUGE regular hotel room with two queen beds and tons of space for walking around and playing. Room itself was nothing fancy, but totally fine for what we needed. Maybe could use some updating, but considering what we paid it was fine. The one amenity in the room we would have loved is a fridge.
The outdoor pool was a pleasant surprise. Had a wonderfully fun evening swim with the kids. Although it was heated, it wasn't warm. Still, once we were in, it was a lot of fun.
Restaurant for dinner - not so much. Only reason we went there was convenience. Food was ok, but we purposefully chose things that would be difficult to mess up. Still, not that exciting (we were the only ones in the dining room on a Sat. night). The restaurant saved itself with the breakfast buffet, however. Ample and good. Tons of options. Also, all of the dining staff were friendly and helpful - a major plus.

Thank you for the feedback! Our team reviews comments regularly, so this will help up as we continually explore ways to improve. We are in the process of making upgrades to our guest rooms. All rooms have recently been painted, new bed coverings, artwork, and new countertops in units with kitchens. Actually a majority of our units have full kitchens which could be something to consider on a future visit. More upgrades are coming in the next few months so hopefully there will be an opportunity to see everything we have done.

We got stranded during the flash flooding of Hurricane Irene on Rt 302 in Bartlett where the roads washed away and we were in distress. When we made up the hill to the Grand Summit Hotel we were greeted with great concern for our safety and welcomed by all. This Hotel is AMAZING from it's grand appearance to the Manager and his extremely well trained friendly staff. Our room was very very clean and comfortable the Hotel was an amazing safe haven for our family. The Manager went above and beyond as well as the head chef who was also pulling extra shifts due to the storm. We watched in amazment as they set up and treated everyone in the hotel to a buffet for supper at no charge due to the storm circumstances. The manager jumped right in helping to seat people and greet people and Ken the chef was cheerful and placed out a beautiful spread for the guests. I can not say enough about the Hospitality extended to us during the storm from this charming and grand hotel and it's staff. The Pool is Beautiful , The enrty way is Grand and the rooms and Spotless and comfortable. I would send everyone to this hotel including the President and his family and know that they would be pleased and enjoy their stay. If I were you I would start booking now so you don't miss out on the Small Town Feeling in a Grand location. Enjoy the Beauty of the Mountains no matter what season you arrive. Thank You Grand Summit Staff for offering us shelter in a storm with and extended helping hand.
Much Appreciation,
The Jones-Whitcher Family

Please no not stay here... our trip was horrible, perhaps the worst trip ever...

At check in, the Desk Clerk, was more interested in answering the phone and staying on the phone answering questions about Story land than helping custoemrs standing right in front of her. We had to make a request for something special and we asked the Desk Clerk for help... she disappeared into the back room to check with the manager of reservations... just like at the car dealership... she came back out from behind the door, after about 5 minutes and said... "there is nothing we can do to help you".

The manager never came out to explain to us... why... just no, you are out of luck.

The restaurant is over priced and the food is average at best, eat anywhere else... if it is late, and you do not want to go anywhere, go to bed hungry.

The construction of the building is poor, you can hear every move your neighbors make, above, below and on either side, there is no quite, at all... the people above us we part of Cirque du Soleil... we could see the light fixtures move and feel the vibrations of every step or move they made. Then try to get some help from the Front Desk... you will be told very quickly, "Do you know how busy we are"?

We will never, evet stay at this place again...

Please stay anywhere else... there are far to many choices up here to put up with this BS.

Good Luck

It is disappointing to learn about a poor guest experience in this way. I hope that the traveler will see this response and contact me about their stay. Our team member at the front desk did not provide a good first impression which has been addressed, and I would love to learn more about the special request. Not knowing what was requested makes it a challenge to respond. This time of year we have a lot of young families staying with us and you may hear rambunctious children at night. We have an established quiet time of 10pm, and if the front desk is made aware of any noise issues we work to quickly resolve the issue. I hope that this guest will reach out to me directly so that I can better understand the experience they had here at the hotel.

Though the hotel was clean and the staff nice, there was many details lacking and certainly no perks during my stay. First, my room was so small I couldn't walk between the wall and my bed to get into the main area. Then the AC had been left blasting and would not shut off. When maintenance came to shut it off, they said the wiring had been undone because either the heat is on or the AC. He offered to show me how to do the wiring while he got a drink using my glass from the bathroom. I was so thrown, I forgot to mention most of the lights wouldn't turn on and there was no overhead lights. My final inconvenience is when I went down the next day at 6:30 am, there was no coffee in the lobby for guests. I was told to wait until 7am when the dinning room opens. I am not really a spoiled traveler, but I do expect a minimum level and I think no coffee put me over the edge.

The hotel has a wide variety of room types, ranging from Studio units to large suites. When we learn that a guest has reserved a room type that may not suit their needs we look for other options. If the hotel is full there may not be other options but if we know there is a concern and we have other options available we work with the guest to get them into more comfortable accommodations based on their needs. The hotel has maintenance staff available 24hrs a day. The way in which this traveler said the AC problem was addressed is concerning and will be discussed with the department head. Our maintenance department has a great track record for correcting any mechanical issues that arise as soon as we are made aware of them. All of our guest rooms are supplied with coffee makers and coffee for our guests to enjoy at anytime. I would like to invite this guest back for a future visit so that we can have the opportunity to give them a much better experience.

We go to Storyland every year with another family. This year we stayed at the Attitash Grand Summit Hotel and got two suites across the hall from each other. It was very convenient for two families traveling together. We also liked the access to the alpine slide and moutain coaster just down the road. The hotel was clean and service was very friendly. We loved the swimming pool. The hotel is starting to show a little age. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, could use updating and the restaurant also seemed a little tired. We also did not understand why there were no chairs on the room balconies. Overall, this is a good place to stay with a family on a Storyland trip.

Room Tip: In the summer, reserve a room in back at ground level and watch the kids play outside while sitting...
