We recently stayed at the North Colony Motel as a Story Land package. Rooms were very accommodating with a microwave and refrigerator. The pool and play ground was beautiful. Very clean and well maintained. Free WiFi as well. They also charcoal grills-just bring your own food, charcoal, and lighter fluid-They have the utensils. The screened in porch in front of the rooms was fantastic for those of us that wanted to continue to stay up and chat after dinner and not have to worry about bugs. We would stay at the North Colony again!

We stayed here for two nights and took advantage of a Storyland package. The playground is awesome, it was the selling point for us staying there with our 5 and 3 year old children. The price was excellent, location was good, rooms were immaculate. We stayed in unit 1 at the end, beds a bit uncomfortable but that could just be a matter of personal preference. We had interactions with both owners while there, both very helpful and welcoming. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would likely stay again.

When we book a vacation, we search reviews for clean rooms first and narrow our choices down from there. For this trip, we also wanted friendly owners, a fun place for our young kids, and comfort (but not necessarily luxury since we'd be out of the room most of the time). We did not want to spend most of our budget on lodging.

We got some questions answered via email and then booked over a phone call. Nancy is wonderful and so helpful. We got a helpful email just before our visit and check-in was smooth. She also had good information about nearby attractions.

I can't add much to what has been said. The kids didn't want to leave the playground. We spent very little time in the room but it was clean (the housekeeper even arranged our kids' stuffed animals on the pillows) and nicely updated. The bed was comfortable for me -- a bit noisy, but fine. We actually had plenty of hot water for showers but the water pressure was not anything special. (I do prefer more, but it wasn't so low to deter me from staying again.) I thought it would be noisier because our room faced the road but I actually slept quite well, and I sleep lightly. The bottom line is we would gladly stay at the North Colony Motel again.

We spent a weekend at the North Colony Motel. The location is great, only 5 minutes to Story Land and about 45 to Santa's Village which is a very pretty drive. Plenty of food options nearby. THe motel was spotless, very clean and the beds were comfortable. The playground is fantastic, its huge with so much to do! My kids loved it and in the evening it was full of all the kids staying there playing together having so much fun. THe owners are very nice. The enclosed porch is nice but keep in mind if you speak out there everything you say echoes all the way down the hall. One night some people at the other end were up quite late (1:30) and woke us up with their chatter, it was like they were in the room with us. That was the only night we had that though. Only complaint is hot water. The shower gets just warm enough that you can stand to get into it. Not sure what that was about and we just made do but I've never really stayed anywhere where there is no hot water. Water pressure good though, just lukewarm. In spite of that we would probably stay again next time we visit as the rest was very nice. Try the pie down the road at Cabin Fever (about one mile west). Best Apple Pie I ever had!

Me, my daughter, and my grandson stayed here from May 29- June 1. We visited the area attractions and had a really nice stay. The place is very clean and family orientated.

Nice playground for kids. Motel had nice pool but we visited out of season and didn't get to use it.

Would go back again for another visit to the area.

Room Tip: Motel rooms offered microwave and mini fridge. If you plan on cooking, rent the cottages. It's...

This motel shattered by concerns about motels and cleanliness. My child (5 & under) and I stayed here and the place was clean, warm and we will very well received. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and had great suggestions. I love that they enclosed the entrance hallway.

The playground was hands down beyond great and over the top for young kids.
