Ordinarily I am not a B&B traveler, but on the recommendations of friends we went to the Bartlett Inn and I am quite happy we did. We stayed in a beautiful cottage with real wood burning fireplace (my favorite). Our kids, 5 & 7 were especially excited about the bunk beds! We enjoyed ourselves very much and look forward to going back to see our new friends!

I thought the reviews for this lodging seemed reasonable enough, however...
When I arrived I ended up staying in a different room than originally booked because of a missing "key issue".
The furniture in the rooms is dated.
The bed wasn't comfortable.
The traffic from route 302 is easily heard at night as well as the neighbors dog.
The heating system is noisy.
The price wasn't that great as further research showed that some of the quality well known hotels not to far away were cheaper.
No "frills"

Guest booked reservation with bedandbreakfast.com/expedia.com. At checkin guest advised his brother was only going to hike with him 1 day so he would be departing one day early. We did upgrade guest from a small inn room with queen bed to a large inn room with a king bed and a jacuzzi tub (because a prior guest accidentally took the key home with them that morning). Guest was refused a refund for early departure as cancellation policy is clear that no refunds within 14 days of arrival and he cancelled after arrival. The guest then called the inn and threatened that if we did not get bedandbreakfast.com/expedia to refund his money he would write a nasty review. The Bartlett Inn rooms were renovated in recent years and retained the 1885 features wherever possible including high ceilings and wood floors. If you appreciate a real Bed and Breakfast experience in an authentic 1885 building you will love the Bartlet Inn.

We had been this area of the White Mountains since the 1970s, sometimes making a couple of trips a year to the area. Until this trip, we had stayed in Jackson as we liked the quiet and casual atmosphere in the village and the proximity of restaurants ans the ski touring center. Over the years Jackson was "redeveloped" and became crowded and pricey. It was such a joy to discover the Bartlett Inn just a few miles west of Jackson and the atmosphere that we so valued over the years -- friendly and informative owners (Nick and Marion), a casual atmosphere, and reasonably priced, comfortable accomodations. Nick not only is a superb host from the moment that a potential visitor calls, but provides "over-and-beyond" service in recommending hiking trails and skiing conditions--from first-hand experience! Upon check-in, he asked if we would like dinner reservations made in local restaurants, and since we knew the area, we suggested the two we had agreed upon before arriving. He made other suggestions, which we found to be "spot-on" for us. I can't wait to go back and see Nick and Miriam and make Bartlett Inn our new inn "of choice" for future visits to the White Mountains. By the way, we found the Bear Notch Ski Touring Center and Bretton Woods to be our new favorites over Jackson Ski Touring, also. And, of course, the hiking/snowshoeing can't be beat up near Crawford Notch. There were bare grounds in Jackson and North Conway, but it snowed for several days straight at Bretton Woods while we were there.

The location is terrific. It's close to the heart of White Mountains and close to North Conway.

The inn has a very welcoming and comfortable feel. We arrived in the early evening to find hot cider and warm chocolate cake set out for us. We sipped cider with other quests in the living room of the inn with a warm fire. Nick and Miriam, the innkeepers, are charming. They spent time with their quests helping them discover everything a White Mountain vacation has to offer.

Breakfast at the inn each morning was a delight. Fresh fruit, smooth coffee and specials such as eggs, omelets or waffles. Nick and Miriam not only served breakfast but made sure that we were ready our day. One day they helped us make reservations for snowmobiling and the next day they recommended ski areas that had the best snow conditions.

Nick and Miriam's hospitality at the Bartlett Inn was superb and clearly added to the quality of our stay.

I recently stayed at the Bartlett Inn with my family. The owners were the "best", very friendly, kind. They would go out of their way to help you! You feel like family when you are here. Adorable Inn with country charm. Rooms were clean, comfy, quiet, updated and had an amazing shower. Breakfast was incredible. I miss those amazing pancakes already and can't wait for our return trip in the fall!! We booked it prior to checking out because we just love the place. I would highly recommend staying at the Bartlett Inn. Family friendly, great rooms, amazing breakfast and great location. A little piece of heaven out in the country!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Bartlett Inn. We stayed in two of the Inn rooms. Both rooms were recently updated and were very accomodating. Miriam also allowed me to view one of the cabins that was recently redone and it was tasteful and beautiful. The owners Nick and Miriam were beyond gracious and made our stay enjoyable. With their great personalities and delicious breakfasts we were extremely pleased with our decision to stay at the Bartlett Inn.

My family enjoyed relaxing by the new heated inground pool and tubing in the nearby river. The Bartlett Inn is the perfect place to stay for a great weekend getaway or a week long vacation. Barlett is absolutely beautiful. Would love to see it in the fall!!
