After searching two areas for restaurants that serve lunch we came upon this little cafe. We were warmly greated and given water and menus. We each had the daily special of bow tie pasta with a creamy tomato sauce loaded with chicken, spinach and artichoke hearts done to perfection. If you are in town, stop here. We loved it.

The food is always great, the staff excellent and the prices very reasonable for the quality. We especially like to go for lunch -- the roasted turkey sandwich is awesome and they have a gluten-free black bean cake which is my husbands favorite. You can't go wrong.

From the outside, this doesn't look like much more than a little cafe, but the unassuming exterior hides a real treasure. The menu varies considerably by day, with adventurous specials complementing a solid mix of traditional options. On the day we went, the normal lamb chop was replaced by an Indian-inspired lamb stew, served over couscous with a yogurt finishing sauce. I had a delicious black bean patty served over spinach with goat cheese, slivered almonds, and a bright ginger dressing. Both dishes were fresh and flavorful, a minimalist presentation in no way distracting from the delicious experience.

This restaurant is not much of a secret; it was our innkeeper's first recommendation and other guests we talked to also raved about it. Still, if you happen to be passing through and aren't sure about it based on the exterior, do yourself a favor and stop in.

Great hearty food at the Cold Mountain Cafe, in a funky atmosphere. Great service and high quality, at reasonable prices, in an intimate setting! Definitely stop here if you're in Bethlehem.

Just FYI, they're shuttered until 5/2/14. I need to write more for this to work....all I can say is it sounded great so I drove up from a shopping trip to Franconia. Will return after the thaw. The only other restaurabt in Littleton is Rosa Flamingos, recommended by a local, for burgers etc.
