It's like going back in time - to a good time. The prices are probably the best we have seen anywhere in NH or ANYWHERE in our recent excursions to 5 states (with loads of restaurant visits).
For example, I just had 2 pork chops with sweet potatoes and 3 bean salad for $4.95 and a dinner salad twice the size of most others - $1.25; my wife had pot roast with potatoes and vegetable - $4.95; breakfast - 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage links, home fries and a half slice of ham - $3.95!!!! Unbelievable!!!
And they sell loaves of fresh baked breads - also about $2.00. Wow.
No - of course it's not an "upscale" "trendy" gourmet restaurant where someone may need to go to feel better about oneself (sort of like buying that BMW you really cannot afford) - in setting or presentation. You know that going in - and should not be expecting otherwise. And I could not care less. I am tired of being "sold a bill of goods" by countless restaurants who delude themselves into thinking that I will feel good about dropping $50 on lunch - because I am eating in their "upscale" restaurant. Upscale means spending more than I should - and getting less than I should - that is - less value.
The Bradford Junction Bakery & Restaurant is a darn decent restaurant - good basic food, nice servers, homey diner / train car style - in the middle of a nice country setting.
I have eaten here many times - for both breakfast and lunch (they close at 2:30 pm every day). The experiences were consistent..
I love this place. Value matters. Anyone can irresponsibly spend a fortune on an over-priced, over rated meal. At this place - you can fill your stomach and leave your wealth in your wallet.
