“A Grand Hotel in a Beautiful Spot”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

This historically significant is as lovely as you would imagine. Staff was very friendly and accomodating....room was quiet and comfortable and appropriately furnished....bathroom was large and bright. Definitely take the tour of the hotel...it is very informative. The hotel concierge was very helpful and gave us the perfect suggestion for a lovely walk in the woods....although I did think perhaps I should have inquired about bears?!! The spa looked beautiful though I did not use the spa facilities....I did see quite a few people brave the first of the season snow flurries to swim in the outdoor heated pool! Lastly....dining- we stayed 3 nights and ate at Stickney's 5 times since it was basically the only place open during our stay...thank goodness the food was excellent and we enjoyed every meal...service and atmosphere were also great. Would recommend making a reservation at The Bretton Arms...as other guests had shared they had an amazing meal there. It is evidently a very small place and reservations are a must....it is just a short shuttle bus ride from the main hotel. Overall...+++ wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel to attend a conference being held on the property. This is an amazingly grand old property that has some fantastic views of Mount Washington. (Weather Permitting) The staff are all very attentive and friendly. I particularly enjoyed taking the tour of the hotel that is given twice daily. I really enjoyed learning about the long history and some of the neat ghost stories that go with hotels of this age.

Our room was large and spacious and had spectacular views of Mount Washington. I particularly enjoyed having my morning coffee delivered and drinking it in bed admiring the mountain. Even though this property is over 100 years old, everything was modern, bright and comfortable. In fact, the bed and pillows are some of the finest I have every slept on anywhere.

There are so many things to talk about for this property it is difficult to summarize. From heated sidewalks that remain snow free to all the Tiffany windows and accents, everywhere you look says elegance from an older era. We also enjoyed a very nice walk along the trails surrounding the golf course and the river flowing across the property.

The complimentary high speed Internet was easy to use and had very good bandwidth. The food was good although a bit pricey. No surprise here given the elegant setting. There are really not any alternatives nearby either if you visit out of season. During season there are a few restaurants nearby. The nearest town with grocery stores and other similar services is about 12 miles away.

I would definitely stay here again. This location would be particularly wonderful for a special event such as a wedding or anniversary celebration.

Room Tip: Virtually every room in this hotel is different. Rooms were originally rented by the square foot bec...

Helpful and friendly staff, who even remembered my name. The view of the Presidential Range is breathtaking. The food was very good but a tad expensive. The rooms were nice & clean. The bed as comfortable. Overall, the experience was well worth the price

The Mt Washington is indeed a legend. I recently stayed here to attend a wedding. It was a wonderful, wonderful experience. The hotel was built in 1902 and has been beautifully renovated. I had a king sized bedroom with a couple of sitting chairs, a desk and chair and the most gorgeous view of the grounds and Mt Washington in the background. I'm an Omni Select member and took advantage of the complimentary morning coffee service. What a treat to open up your door in the morning wearing one of the lovely hotel robes and get a tray with coffee and juice to start the day. Then once you get ready to face the world you go down to breakfast in an elegant dining room again with fabulous views and a breakfast buffet that is second to none. If what you wanted wasn't on the table, all you had to do was ask. I had one of the best Belgian waffles I've ever had. It was just perfect. The staff inquired the reason for my visit and I told them a wedding. There were several that weekend and they said "oh, you're here for the BIG one." Well it was a big wedding and it went off without a hitch. Even the day cooperated for us as we sat out on the terrace waiting for the bride. The hotel staff did a fabulous job starting with the 4 pm cocktail hour and then a 5 course dinner and reception that went until 11. The food was excellent and we all had a fabulous time. Be sure to check out the Cave--a relic from the Prohibition Era. Lots of fun and a great band on the weekend. Besides the winter sports, it's a great place to visit in the summer and I'm already thinking about when I can go back.

We thought they did a good job of accommodating a group of 10 of us for 4 days. The food was okay, nothing to write home about, but the staff was friendly, courteous and caring, which went a long way with all of us, even when they messed up a few times with locations for breakfast for our team. Beautiful location in the fall and winter, and enjoyed it alot.

The Mount Washington Resort is a wonderful place to stay in the White Mountains. During the off season is the best time to stay, as it is not as busy, it's a very relaxed atmosphere, and quiet. There is plenty to do at the resort but if you are looking for something to do outside, there is skiing across the street, hiking, zip lining, Outlet shopping 35 minutes away in North Conway, etc.

We loved the Mount Washington! the accommodations, the amenities, the food and above all, the staff! Such a great hotel! We have visited twice and this past trip was for our anniversary. The room was beautiful and so was the bathroom. All of the food is great there but the menu and the staff at Stickney's is amazing. We can't wait to go back - next time we're bringing the kids!
