Pleasant View is located within easy access to other attractions such as parks, lakes, and trails. Room 6 had comfortable bed, the inn is very clean and the breakfasts were delicious. We had the package that included a wine and cheese picnic in an Eddie Bauer backpack which we got to keep, a gift certificate for Kathleens Cottage Restaurant, and a massage at Lakeview Massage Studio in Hebron. The studio has a beautiful lake/mountain view and a terrific massage therapist and was only a short drive from the Inn. The picnic, restaurant, and the massage package added to make our get away at Pleasant View a wonderful experience.

If we were going to spend a lot of time hanging around at the B&B maybe it would have been worth it but we really just wanted somewhere to sleep - no frills, between 2 days of snowboarding. This was the only place we could find. The woman who runs it was totally inflexible. I stayed there with my husband and a friend so we needed 2 rooms, my friend came last minute and she didnt give him any discount on a double room for being in there on his own, which is fair enough but then gave him a line about how she gets booked up so fast, even though it was the day before and there was noone else at the place. She told my husband that the breakfast was huge and you wouldnt need to eat lunch afterwards, but it was just eggs (i think they may have been powdered ?) and a few slices of bacon. She was very abrupt, didnt even say hi when she first met us, which is better than someone being over friendly and false, however, its not what you expect from a B&B, normally people are a little friendly. The rooms were really cozy, although our shower was broken and there was a nasty sign on the bed saying "do not sit your luggage or yourself on the quilt" - that sums up the pettiness of the service. When you pay $130 for a room you want to be able to sit on the bed ! But the rooms were very clean, and there was free soda, water, tea, and a warm homey living area. It was nice, and it would have been better if we had had longer to enjoy it, but just wasnt what we were after and I got the feeling the woman saw us merely as dollar signs.

What a rare find! Pleasant View was recommened to us by friends and we must say we were very pleasantly surprised by what we found. Pleasant View is a true New England B&B. Very charming, very welcoming, very friendly. We were greeted by Porter, the very friendly black lab, who did not even bark at us.

Heidi, the "Inn Wench" made us feel very much at home. After settling into our room, we searched her out for recommendations for dinner - she gave us several and even indicated that if we were disappointed in ANY of them, she would reimburse our meal costs - WOW! We ate 2 miles downthe road and had a very enjoyable meal/evening.

Even though the inn was full, it was very quiet. Our sleep was peaceful, and the bed was great. I woke up to the smell of coffee, bacon, and yummy muffins. Breakfast was great - a buffet with fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola (VERY good), 3 juices, coffe, tea, etc. And she did a hot plate - we had gingerbread waffles with warmed maple syrup. There was even a fire in the woodstove - perfect.

We loved that the inn is "adult freindly" - no kids under 18 - perfect for us. And we had our dog fix with Porter who never said no to a game of fetch.

We asked Heidi for things to do, places to go, and she was a wealth of infomation. A map was pulled out and she outlined a day trip for us and made recommedations alonf theay to stop and see. One good thing is that we did not eat again until dinner that evening - we ended back at the same place as the night before.

Breakfast was just again as yummy - this time with pumpkin muffins and fluffy pancakes with maple sausages.

We are so looking forward to our next weekend - can't wait for vacation scheduling!
