We just had a wonderful experience at this small creative cafe, which also has evening entertainment on weekends and is a great spot for an afternoon ice cream and coffee as well.It is set along side the Newfound River which is rushing by just before a tiny dam. My husband had a hot chicken bacon ranch sandwich on an artisanal multi grain bread. It had melted mozzarella on it, and was scrumptious. I had a black bean quesadilla which came with all kinds of crunchy vegetables in the quesadilla and was served with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side. As a treat, we also tried an appetizer size homemade ravioli with tomato basil sauce....just terrific.
We got coffee and tea to go for our leaf peeping tour of NH and they have totally over the top homemade fudge in many flavored including sugar free which is decadent. You can mail order it later if you miss it a lot. I suspect we will:) Since it was a beautiful day, we ate outside and listened to the river as it toppled over rocks! A perfect autumn afternoon!

They do have delicious homemade ice cream, but I am most appreciative of the vegetarian options such as the excellent build-your-own sandwich. I love the check boxes so you can order exactly what you do and don't want. The ingredients are high quality and everything we've ordered has been great. There is often a vegetarian soup, and a customized salad is another great option. Paninis look great, too. We make this a required stop during each of our NH vacations-it's that good!

The seating is charming, and has a great view of running water if you sit outside. It's a really nice and interesting old building.

I stopped in this place for ice cream a couple of times. The staff is very patient and willing to explain any of their fantastic ice cream flavors and let you try a taste. It is great to try some of their more unusual ice cream concoctions. I've got to stop by sometime during mealtime to try their other food. Unfortunately, you have to pass by their fudge bar and ice cream freezer before getting to the restaurant and that's where I get stuck.

Their fudge is delicious and they do serve meals also. They have musical entertainers in from time to time. My to-do list still have the following item: force myself by the ice cream and fudge bar and try the food in their restaurant.

You wouldn't expect it given the name but their salads were spectacular and we were also pleasantly surprised by the tasty espresso drinks.
