The parking area is large, the beach is nice and the water is really clean with a nice sandy bottom.

Pack your cooler, bring the family and enjoy the sandy beach, picnic tables and shade trees. Newfound Lake is a gem and this state park allows you to BBQ and there is also a nice boat launch for a fee in addition to the park entry fee. Very excellent way to spend the day.

Well maintained beach with excellent access to the water. Boating is also easy as there is state constructed ramp with ample parking.

Wellington is a wonderful state park -- one of New Hampshire's very best, in my opinion. Right on Newfound Lake, it has a huge beach area plus many wooded picnic sites, playgrounds, and a nature trail, among other amenities. The bathrooms are not fancy but they do have flush toilets and running water. The changing areas are separate from the bathrooms.

Wellington is great for kids and families because the sandy beach area is huge (plenty of room for digging, making sand castles, etc.) and the water is shallow near the beach. The deeper area is clearly marked by a line. We have been to Wellington many times and it seems that even on the hottest days of summer, a breeze can be found on the shores of Newfound Lake. Weekends can be very busy and crowded, as can holidays, so coming during the week is a good idea if one can do that. I also suggest coming early in the day to find and claim a good spot on the beach.
