This is about as good as it gets, white table dining with the top quality food and beverage.

Excellent overall experience; will go back again. Weeknights are best to avoid crowds

On a recent drive through New Hampshire during leaf peeping season, we found some of the towns along Lake Winnipesaukee to be on the crowded side. We drove on to the quiet town of Center Harbor, and had an excellent experience dining at the Coe House Restaurant. The name of my meal was a mouthful in itself -- "Granite Brick Pressed Statler Chicken with Crispy Prosciutto Risotto." It was delicious; an excellent mix of flavors. My husband had the "Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Wild Mushroom Demi-glace." Again, a long name for a simply delicious meal. (Though I'm always nervous about wild mushrooms ... these were the real deal, since we're still alive.)

The location is also excellent -- everything you could hope for in a New England restaurant, from a wide porch with flower pots to the interior decor of ornamental woodwork and Victorian touches. There's an excellent history of the house on the Coe House website.

This restaurant was terrible. Friends had told us they had bad service but we thought maybe extenuating circumstances and we would try it. We were seated with mostly empty tables and yet our server kept telling us how busy they were as she promised to return for a drink order. We sat 30 minutes without her coming over. Another 30 minutes before bread arrived. The first course, house fresh made mozzarella, was unrecognizable--hard, dried pinwheels. Entrees arrived late and wrong. When we ordered our 2nd bottle of wine we were told the 1st was the only bottle in house. Just terrible service and poor quality food. Would never go back.

We had the worst Saturday night dinner I can remember in years.
Don't waste your time or money on this place. We've been a couple of times over the past few years, and each time we go we wonder whatever possessed us to go back. We've never had a great meal here, and last night was the worst.

The service was so slow and frustrating, many people in our dining room were ready to get up and leave. The waitress had no clue and certainly no training on how to serve customers. The Manager really didn;t give a darn about the poor service, the long wait for drinks or food either
The meals were very disappointing, ours came out cold and with no taste.. The haddock was overcooked and the salmon was nothing like the menu described.

They ran out of many things
