“don't expect too much!”
Reviewed 7 July 2011

This is a family friendly diner with a fairly large menu and reasonable prices. There is a large bar and nearby tables and chairs with 2 large screen TV's in view in addition to a separate room without TV. The quality of our food was mediocre - the flatbread pizza was on cold (flat)bread with greasy pizza sauce and cheese; the corned beef 'panini' turned out to be two slightly toasted pieces of white bread filled with a portion of cold corned beef. The accompanying fries were good, not greasy and not too salty. The ordered beer arrived without a glass, assuming drinking from a bottle was accepted, and when asked for a glass a frozen mug was delivered, why not bring it right away with the cold beer? So: don't expect too much and you may like this place!

“Now for something completely different”
Reviewed 15 September 2009

In the mood for a great casual eatery with a nice selection of traditional fare and a few unique dishes? Try the mug. I have been to the Moultonboro restaurant on several occasions and have always left happy. They have the standards you expect in any sandwich and pizza shop. Their Ruban is traditional and very good. Their Pizza comes in an almost unlimited variety; all good. I have yet to try their subs but they look fresh and filling. But if, on the other hand you want something different, you can try their Kayo burger on a bed of rare roast beef. You can delight in the Artie sliders and enjoy the roasted red peppers, artichoke pesto and provolone cheese. Salads range from chef to “fruit and nuts salad”. Wraps? They have that all rolled up too. If everything else fails to entice you you can design your own sandwich from over 30 breads, meats and accompaniments. Prices are in the $6 to $12 range and yes they do have a kids menu. Do not expect great ambiance or fine china on the table. Do expect good honest food in a friendly and plain setting.

“Best casual restaurant in the Lakes Region”
Reviewed 6 February 2008

If you are in the mood for excellent sandwiches or other delicious "pub fare" in a casual atmosphere, this is your best bet around. My husband and I LOVE the Grand Slam sandwich (ham, cole slaw, dressing, swiss on a bulkie) and have a hard time tearing ourselves away from this option, though we also enjoy LTJ's Delight, the Kayoburger, pizza, chef's salad and some of their dinner options. This is our first choice for dinner with friends who have kids, since there is a large pool room where they can play video games and be rowdy without disrupting people. It's also a great place to catch sports on the big screen (there are three).
