This location was a breakfast lunch local favorite. I was skeptical about the new venue, but was pleasantly surprised to find fine dining with a view of the lake and well presented fare. It is defiinitely a place to visit while in the lakes region.

Then come here. Get a cheeseburger. Really, don't get anything but a good old classic American cheeseburger, until at least your third time. That's what this place is: American, and it's American in the good way, not the McDonald's way. This is one of those places where you can feel that you're at the only place like it. When you sit at a bar at Friday's or wherever, you know you could be anywhere: that can be liberating, or debilitating. Here at the Mug, you KNOW you're in rural New Hampshire, which, if you've come to Meredith/Center Harbor, you should want to be in. Hopefully, there'll be a few bikes in the parking lot, ideally Harleys, maybe purchased right up the street at the big dealership. Nearby Laconia is, after all, one of USA's 4 bike week towns. I've never even been on a motorcycle outside Rwanda, but I'm disappointed when there aren't a few at the Mug. There may even be an old car or two. You can play pool, too. All the food's good, so if you're not a burger person, it's all right. It's just better if you are.

Thank Steve L

I have been coming to The Mug since I was a kid. If you are looking for a fancy place, this is not it. But it's a great place to come and eat. The past two times I went with my husband and our 3 yr old son on our way up to Moultonborough. They have some arcade games that kept him busy till our lunch showed up, and there is also a pool table. Food pricing is reasonable. Our waitress was very friendly. We will keep going back..

The Mug Restaurant is an institution in these parts. With cold beer and decent food this is a nice place to relax after work or to catch the game on one of the three big screen TVs. (Locals have been known to catch Family Feud or Maury once in a while on a weekday afternoon...). This is a great place to come for a reasonably priced meal with the family, to hang out and play pool with friends or just to even drop in by yourself for a quick respite.

Come by enough and you just may be inspired to enter the yearly raffle to win your own mug (hung on the ceiling and saved just for your visits!). Proceeds from the yearly raffle are donated to charity.

Outdoor seating is available, but they are only wet zoned (allowed to serve alcohol outside) during bike week.
