The woman with whom we communicated had quoated as a price of $375 but when we got there, after a 4&1/2 hour drive with 3 kids, she said it was going to be $625...she had quoated us the winter price but denied it! She said something like...even if I was extremely drunk I would not have made that mistake....hmmmmmm...and she was LESS than friendly! Nowhere else to go on such short notice! We were on a very tight budget and were so excited to find something we could afford than BAM...just be sure to get any price information in writing!

Room was old and worn. A/C so old it hardly worked and was very loud. Bed was awful. The bathroom was the worst as the floor under the vinyl was rotten. I was afraid the toliet was going to fall through the floor.

We spent 2 nights , the property was very nice. The room was old and run down. Our AC was duct taped together along with the tv remote. The door knob fell off every time you opened the door. They lost our reservation and overbooked. The beds were just horrible, the springs stuck right through . If you don't have a bad back when you arrive, you will when you leave. The people and the pool was very nice and the property well decorated. The brochure shows nice beach on the river but there is no access to river unless you drive 5 miles down the road.

rented the three bedroom suite, perfect for three couples. we each had our own room, but common area to hang out. nice to have the kitchen for making breakfast (saved time and money). easy access to mt. washington. the rooms were clean and neat, as were the grounds. lots and lots of flowers outside, someone obviously cares about it! can't expect much more from a motor lodge.

We found this lodge on the website listed under pet friendly lodging in the White Mountains. Our family of four plus our little dog found the 3 bedroom suite to be charming, clean, and comfortable as well as a great value for our week-long stay. Our unit also had a kitchenette equipped with all the necessary pots, pans and appliances to cook breakfasts, lunches, and suppers when we chose to eat in. The building overlooked the beautiful frozen Saco River that could be seen during a stroll around the complex, and we were only about a 10-15 minute ride to downtown North Conway and about 25 minutes to King Pine.
The owners are very friendly and thoughtful. They even had our suite decorated with a Christmas tree for our Christmas Day arrival!
All of the suites are heated with radiant floor heat which felt wonderful on our feet! There was also plenty of hot, steamy water for showers after a cold day playing in the snow!
Our two kids (21 and 16) were also very impressed with the unit. They both said that they felt like they were at home. We hope that the Saco River Motor Lodge will become a family tradition for Christmas school break.

Very nice. Clean and very basic, old but well maintained. The "but" is that the rooms face the highway and if you are light sleeper, passing semis may disturb you. The cure: hike & enjoy the mountains till exhaustion!

I try to get a weeks break at the Saco River Motorlodge in the winter and have done so for the last few years.

I have always had a great stay and love the place. For starters the scenery in New Hampshire is stunning and if you go to Saco River Motorlodge during the winter months/early spring there is a good chance of snow which makes the place magical.

With the grounds and countryside around there are plenty of places to go and visit.

The rooms in the modern section are lovely. The views of the hills are amazing.

The pool is stunning and a luxury retreat for me. If you are looking for a bit of luxury and pampering in the 'highlands' I don't think you can beat it.
