“Winter Wonderland”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

We have stayed at the Darby before but never in the winter. We stayed over New Years and we went snowshoeing right out the back door. Carol made me the best Hot Chocolate with whipped cream. We had a great view of the mountains and they had a great fire in the fire place. There was a New Years Eve party in the pub. It was a lot of fun. I love Carol, she is so much fun.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back have great views of the mountains. Next time we will pick a Tradional room rat...

My wife and I were married here on October 19, 2013 and it was all about "US"!! It was so beautiful and peaceful. Marc, Carol and the staff made it even more memorable with their friendly service. I highly recommend breaking away from the norm and venture to The Darby to celebrate your love! Let the wilderness be your church!

I don't know where to begin. The Inn building itself is amazing; the plot of land on which it is located had some of the most gorgeous examples of fall foliage we saw during our ten days in New England. The room on the 3rd floor overlooked the trees with orange and yellow leaves and the mountains in the distance. We enjoyed the best supper meal of our ten day visit to New England at the Darby Field Inn. It was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, the room warm and inviting, no rushing; the view through the large windows was inspiring. Breakfast the following morning was equally enjoyable. Our room had a private bath. Am hoping to return in September next year, a little earlier in Autumn, to enjoy a weekend at Darby Field Inn.

Room Tip: They have an outdoor heated pool during warm season. If you do go, I suggest staying for a fine din...

My husband and I were searching around to find a place in New England to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary this past weekend. We ended up stumbling upon Darby Field Inn through a Living Social deal we found. We called them up and were able to book our stay for that same day (Friday). We drove up to Conway from New Jersey which was quite a trip but once we arrived it was well worth the stay. We ended up booking Tess' Room it was an average size room and came with a TV and fireplace making the room extra cozy. The view from our 3rd floor room was breathtaking as it looked over the mountains and trees. We received breakfast with each morning we were there and it was cooked to order. The food was SO FRESH and tasty. We also had dinner there on Saturday night. The salmon and filet were superb. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Only drawbacks were really minor. One, the "heart of town" isn't exactly close to the inn, it is around a 10-15 minute drive. (Again not a big deal). Second, the kitchen and tavern close on the early side (Around 8-9pm). Which isn't a big deal but it was a drawback when we arrived around 8:00pm after a long day of driving and then had to head back out in search of dinner.

Will definitely return in the future.

My husband has talked about staying at a B&B since I've known him. Being from Texas, he has also wanted to see the leaves change and have an "autumn experience". Our first anniversary was the perfect opportunity to do both and Darby Field couldn't have been more perfect.

We stayed in Samuel's room on the top floor. The room was impeccably clean, but the most memorable part was the view from our private balcony.

Marc, the owner couldn't have been more accommodating and the staff was exceedingly friendly.

This is the perfect place for a secluded couples getaway. The views of the mountains and changing leaves were breathtaking.

Highly recommended!

After more than 30 years on this hill, I still find each year's display of colors to be beautiful and unique. What a special treat to have an awesome autumn experience at a B&B in the White Mountains for your anniversary! Hope this won't be your last stay here in the fall, but I must recommend you try the other seasons, too...they are each special in their own way!
Warm regards, Marc

The Conways were a part of our month long trip through New England and Darby Field Inn did not disappoint. Marc is a great host and his friendly, helpful staff made sure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. It was really nice not to have to leave the Inn for meals. Our dinner was excellent and The Tavern is great for a drink or light meal. The views throughout the Inn are spectacular.
The pressure in our shower was not wonderful which is the only negative.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 3rd floor were very warm and the staircase to get there is quite steep.

Lovely rural inn with terrific views of Mount Moat. There is a full bar and restaurant on site. Homemade bread for breakfast and rolls for dinner that are so good! Tasty and well prepared meals, and so nice not to have to drive to dinner after a day of sightseeing. The inn has a cozy home-like feel that is easy to settle into. We were two couples traveling to New England for the first time and spent two nights. The host/owner, Marc, and his staff were all friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Marc suggested a hike for our nature loving friends, while telling us about a scenic drive and great place for lunch. There is an old fashioned charm in the location and atmosphere here that made us all very happy. It was hard to leave!
