This inn has great views and comfy rooms and it's right off the kancamagus highway. We had a gas fireplace in the room which was nice and the view of the presidential mountain range from our window was good. The breakfast was tasty we had pancakes one morning they were great. I would recommend this inn to anyone who wants a great location in the white mountains to explore from or just relax at.

The Darby Field Inn is located on a hillside that affords an incredible view of the Presidential Mountain Range. Combine that with very helpful and friendly staff, a dedicated and caring innkeeper and delicious breakfasts and you have great lodgings.

My boyfriend and I came here for our first long weekend away together. It couldn't have been a better experience. The staff was extremely friendly, the place itself was beautiful, and the food was amazing. We stayed in Tess's room and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. We had a fireplace in the room and a little sitting area. We couldn't have been happier with the room. The food was also incredible, the lobster bisque was one of the best I have ever had before. We have both decided that we will be visiting at least once a year and this is officially "our place" for when we want to go away for a long weekend.

Room Tip: Mountain Views are breathtaking!

My husband & I stayed here February 2013 through a Living Social deal, so when the deal was offered again, we jumped right on it. We stayed in Room 11, Tess' room, which is one of two rooms on the third level. The room was small, but comfortable, clean & had a nice view. The bathroom was clean and manageable in size, with a toilet, sink & shower. The skylight helped to make it bright. Our bed was very comfortable with a memory foam mattress & a gas fireplace on the opposite end of the room. We had a tv & dvd player/vcr to also enjoy.

The inn itself is very New England, well kept & clean. The staff is great. Mark, the innkeeper is very nice & Carol, Juanita & the housekeeping & waitstaff are all eager to please.

Breakfast was ample & delicious each morning & coffee was good.

We snowshoed on the property a few times & enjoyed use of the trails.

I would definitely recommend this inn to others & intend to return.

We stayed here at the end of nov and was very nice. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed and the inn itself had a very cozy homey feel to it. The restaurant was nice but a little bit pricey. Overall a very good inn that I would recommend to others looking to escape for a night or two.

We returned to Darby Field for New Years Eve this year, and again we were delighted. The accommodations are cozy, clean, and comfortable. The food is delicious. The new chef is a keeper, Marc. And Marc, as always, was gracious and helpful. The staff very quickly become friends here. Whether at the front desk, in the dining room, in the tavern, or in the living room, they quickly learn what their guests like and strive to provide it.

My only caution for TripAdvisor readers is to be careful with the booking calendar. For some reason it is not always accurate with availability. After finding no vacancies on the TripAdvisor calendar, we checked the Darby Field site and booked our room. This place is well worth taking that extra step.

I took my wife here for her 25th birthday in between Christmas and New Years. It was a magnificent experience. The staff was wonderful and the room was great (we stayed in the Mt. Washington room.) The food at the restaurant was excellent and the wait staff was lively and in tune with what we wanted. We had a great time there. My wife and I will definitely consider staying there again if we return to the White Mountains (which we would like to do.) I highly recommend the Darby Field Inn.

Room Tip: Stay in the bigger rooms.
