We found out about Rebel Chef when he catered a business function. The cafe is in one of Dover's historic mill buildings. The space is one big room with the brick walls, high ceilings, and giant windows that are common in mill buildings. During a usual, laid-back evening you can stop in for a sandwich and some electronic darts. They also have events every couple of weeks, from dinner theater to comedians to a Beatles tribute band.
The food is excellent. Not fancy, but not just the usual burger and fries either. Last nights' event was a trio of comedians, and prior to the show they offered an appetizer buffet. Stuffed mushrooms, several kinds of wings, hot dips, some kind of sandwiches/stromboli type thing that was awesome, homemade chips, cheeses, etc. The presentation was nice, the wait staff decent.
All in all, not a place that I would go to for a romantic evening out, but definitely a place I'd go to, frequently, for a bite after work, a casual business meeting, or to take advantage of a special event.
