We are returning for a third year now in the next couple weeks with our two boys (3 and 1) meeting friends from Maine also with little ones. We love this little museum and the playground right outside. The kids have so much fun playing hand drums, ringing the bell on the trolley, playing music by touching the wall, investigating dinosaur fossils and even playing with trains upstairs. Don't miss this wonderful experience. I'd also recommend visiting La Festa for pizza right around the corner. Yum!

Smaller children's museum but the admission is priced comparatively to reflect that. Older building repurposed well. My favorite room was the beaver dam with the wall of windows overlooking the mill by the river. My tip for visiting would be to go at peak lunchtime; once a school group vacated I could actually breathe again and our kids could actually enjoy each exhibit.

Thanks for taking the time to post this review of our museum. The spring is our busiest time for school field trips so we welcome people to call us ahead of time to see if a large group is scheduled. Most groups come between 10 am and 1 pm, then have to leave to go back to school, so afternoons are almost always quieter. We hope you'll be back again.

This place is great for young, active children. Everything is touchable and interactive. The spaces are open and clean. Fun for the whole family, but best for children under the age of 10. We were able to get a discount from our local library.

Thanks for the 5-star review, Jeanne! Many public libraries within a 1-2 hour radius have passes that offer half-price admission, so it's definitely worth checking with your library ahead of time. There are currently 65 libraries in NH, MA and ME that have our passes!

I visited last fall with my two-year-old niece. She had a fantastic time. Lots of interactive gadgets for kids to play with. It was a great afternoon. They have a fun gift shop. If you live in Dover, you can get free passes at the library.

Thanks for sharing your review. Many libraries do have passes to visit the museum, but the program offers half-price rather than free admission. It's still a great savings over the $9 regular rate.

I take my three grandsons two are 2 years old and the oldest is 4 . They all love it.. so many busy and fun things to do. The oldest favorite is the submarine. They have alego area where you make a car and race it down a track. Also a dinosaur area where you pretend to dig up bones. An area for coloring and painting. A cool place to dress up and see yourself on a tv screen. My favorite as BIG KID is where you touch these pieces of wood and music sounds come out. Always check the schedule for upcoming events. There is more... Around the corner is a new LEAF, yogurt shop also. HAVE FUN!!!!

Thanks for your review, Frank - you covered so many of visitors' favorite areas to play and explore! And yes, we do have a new Orange Leaf frozen yogurt up the street. The other nearby restaurants and shops make Dover a great destination for a family day trip.
