Silver Fountain Inn

It was our first time visiting New England and The Silver Fountain Inn. Pam and Jim are fantastic hosts. Very welcoming and accommodating. Fantastic breakfast. We couldn't believe the choices. Delicious Pam! Lots of extras here that you don't find in other B & B's, home baked cookies, Gluten Free cookies for my husband, bottled water and ice in an extra fridge for their guests to use. We found the history of the house very interesting. We chose their Inn based on ratings and photos on Tripadvisor. The house is spectacular and very well maintained and will only get better in Pam and Jim's hands. We had one concern in the bathroom but they have just taken over the Inn in July and already had someone booked to fix the issue. They have tons of helpful brochures and maps in the front entry and were very helpful recommending nearby restaurant options for dinner. Great location We highly recommend their Inn and if we ever get back there, we would definitely stay again. Very comfortable!

We were recommended to stay here as we were visiting friends in the town of Dover that weekend. Our hosts, Pam and Jim couldn't have been happier to see us, helping us with our bags, and even printing off directions to our friends' house nearby. There were delicious home made cookies and all sorts of tea and coffee to help our selves from in the main living area. The inn is one of the few properties we were told, in the town that had not been turned into apartments and had many of its original features ie orginal mouldings, stair rails, fireplaces etc. it was like walking onto the set of an old MGM musical! Our room was very pretty, with a four poster bed and even a small chaise longue. Our shower room and toilet was very 'bijou' but more than adequate for a single night's stay..

Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, especially the home made pumpkin scones and pumpkin butter.

A lovely place to stay with charming hosts to boot. We wish them every success with their new venture.

Room Tip: We spied the ground floor bed room when we left which looked far roomier and would be more suitable...

We only stayed one night, but we very much enjoyed our experience. Very clean, beautiful victorian home in a great location. I only wish we could have stayed longer, to maybe spend more time on the grounds and just relax. Our weekend was pretty booked with shopping and work related meetings, but the time we spent at the B&B was great. The breakfast was delicious- pecan french toast and spinach quiche with Pumpkin scones! The hosts were great, only wish had more time to talk with them.

My husband and I stayed at the Silver Fountain Inn in the past but this was our first time with the new owners. Pam was a wonderful. We had both planned on running the Apple Festival 5K early Saturday morning and had mentioned that to Pam. She asked if we would like anything to eat before we headed out at 0730 - sure, a banana or two would be fine. We came back from UNH that evening to find a bag waiting for us outside of our room with bananas, water and granola bars! That was perfect and fueled us for the run and we were back in time to have a wonderful breakfast.

One of the nice changes Pam and Jim have made is to break up the one large table in the dining room so that one can either sit as a couple or chose to join others at tables for 4 or 6 - so much better!

We will be back!

My wife and I, along with 10 or so other people during our 50th Reunion Weekend from High School at Berwick Academy in S. Berwick, Maine. the Inn was like a Step Back in Time to childhood memories of the atmosphere of the time, yet with the now necessary modern touches. It always seem that Pam or Jim knew when you were in the common areas and might need something. The delicious homemade breakfasts were served restaurant style at 2 to 6 person tables in a beautiful large living room with a huge fireplace at one end that also served as a lounge area. The lounge area was great to sit in to the wee hours of the morning reminiscing & catching-up with old classmates.

The bedroom ranged from very large to cozy yet big enough to be comfortable. The extra bed served as a nice place to layout one's suitcases.

The Inn is also an easy walk to Downtown Dover past many many well kept period homes.

This is a new B&B in an old mansion. Everything was updated in my room, but still had that rustic B&B feel. The breakfast was great. Jim and Pam were very accommodating.

It was about 20 minutes to Portsmouth and about 20-25 minutes to the beach in York, ME.

The Inn is a grand old structure built in the latter half of the 19th century. With high ceilings and hardwood floors, the house beckons a bygone age.

Inn keepers Jim and Pam Pigeon revitalize that period with quiet hospitality and to die for breakfast.

The inn is located very near the University of New Hampshire campus and is walking distance to the commercial center of Dover and many casual restaraunts. We stay here when attending school events.

This establishment makes an overnight stay a special event.
