I was married at the 3 Chimneys in October 1999, we had a small wedding with about 50 guests. The rooms are just gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful. We were lucky with the weather, and were able to have the ceremony outside in the garden. With the timing, we were also able to book almost the entire inn, which our guests loved. The rooms all have fireplaces and especially with a fall wedding, that is a wonderful feature. The decorating is also a nice feature, many of my guests thought it was the best they had seen - comfy matresses and pillows, four poster beds, etc.The foliage was also spectacular. I do think that the food is somewhat over-rated. My husband and I had looked forward to the highly rated chefs, and were disappointed. The wedding food was average nice-hotel fare. We hoped things had improved over the few years and went back for our 2002 anniversary, but it was the same. Overall it is still nice quality food, but we really had expected much better. The one problem we did have was during the reception with the serving when they came out with all the chicken dishes, then all the beef, etc. leaving some tables sitting there waiting for someone's fish before they could eat. My husband had to actually go into the kitchen and complain before they figured it out. Really irritating, but I will say it was the ONLY problem we had, I would absolutely get married there again!
