Rainy day and no WIFI at our cottage. So we thought we'd go get a bite of lunch and just in case we brought our computers. Popovers was the best place we could have tried. Excellent soup and sandwich, good fast internet and a very attentive waitress who kept refilling our iced teas.
This was a perfect stop for us.

This eatery's location is booming and this place is packed. It is good food. Nothing is similar within the area. I feel some of the prices are a little high. Their bakery is great and the have a full bar. I personally enjoy the smoked salmon salad and their soups.

Am not saying it was not good food, it was just we thought it should have more to do with it's name. We were hoping to see more or better usage of their wonderful popovers. The maple butter was made in house and was really good. But, it was more Panini orientated and was a bit pricey. They do make their own soups and popovers and serve fresh, hot, plan popovers with pretty much everything. I did have the appetizer, a couple of popovers filled with lobster salad accompanied by a small salad and it was marvelous. They do serve a double cup coffee which was more than enough, but, did not ask if we needed it heated up. The server was very helpful, explaining their menu and offering us complementary popovers to start. She also checked on us a couple of times to see if everything was alright. Her table load was fairly large, thus, we did believe she went out of her way to make sure we were having a good experience. Thank you Diana. So, heads up if you want to try it out, please realize it is not all-about-popovers. We will return and try other items on the menu.

Popovers is delicious! It was confusing at first because one side had just a coffee area, seat yourself; the other side was wait to be seated. Now that the whole restaurant is full service it's much better. I think the Epping location is better than the Portsmouth one, friendlier staff and better atmosphere. They serve you mini popovers complimentary (ask for the maple butter, it's delicious!!!)

If you need a cake for any event, their cakes are to die for!

This is the second location for Popovers, having originated in Portsmouth, NH downtown. The Epping location is larger than Portsmouth, which is great as the original location is way too small for the volume. The food and service in Epping is always excellent and the desserts are to die for !! It's a little pricey, but worth it. When they first opened it was self service, but now it is full waitress service. Lunch here is very popular, so arrive early if possible.
