Covered Bridge House
Ranked #3 of 5 Glen B&B and Inns
Reviewed 10 December 2010

My family has stayed at the Covered Bridge House several times. The innkeepers - Nancy and Dan are delightful! The food is wonderful and everything about our stay is always super. The location is great right outside North Conway. You are close to everything, but there isn't a lot of traffic.
This year we rented out the entire B&B with friends and family (which included small children). The B&B is perfect for a group or a nice getaway with a loved one.

My husband, two year old son and I stayed for three nights last week at the Covered Bridge House in Glen, NH. From beginning to end, we were impressed with this cozy inn. We stayed in the family suite - two adjoining rooms with a private bath across the hall. The rooms were lovely - comfortable, clean, and well thought out. The linens were so soft and comfy, making for a very good night's sleep. We had three breakfasts during our stay and all were delicious - freshly baked muffins to begin every meal and bacon cooked to perfection added to the excellent offerings of pancakes, french toast and Belgian waffles (or eggs cooked any style). The soft piano music that played in the dining area was a nice touch- it was very relaxing and added to the overall atmosphere. The gift shop built into the covered bridge on the grounds is adorable and offers a very nice selection of country style decor, gift items, and souvenirs. Dan and Nancy, the owners of the both the B&B and the gift shop were very friendly and accessible, but not intrusive - they provided the perfect balance. The location was great - very close to North Conway, many restaurants, and only minutes from Storyland, which was the main purpose of our trip considering we have a two year old! Overall, our stay was an excellent one and we will definitely look forward to returning in the future. I would recommend this to anyone looking for lodging in Glen.

Spent three nights in this quaint B&B in the White Mountains, the innkeepers were very friendly and the bedrooms and breakfasts were first class. Excellent location for seeing NH foliage at its best, also close to Mount Washington and a senic drive to Franconia Flume. Good pubs/restuarants in Jackson only minutes away by car. Search no further if you are looking for B&B accomodation in this area of the White Mountains.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 3yr old and 1 yr old in the 2 bedroom unit. Private bathroom was across the hallway.
Overall, a fantastic stay. As others have mentioned, the innkeepers are great.
Location is very close to Storyland. A bit of a drive if you are heading to Flume Gorge (45minutes) or any location in Franconia Notch.
Good family friendly place to eat nearby (5 minutes by car) is the Red Fox, which has a playroom for kids.

The Covered Bridge House is a wonderful stay for those looking for a peaceful and affordable stay in the region. The hosts Dan and Nancy are great! They serve a wonderful sit-down complete breakfast each morning. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are no TV's in the rooms, adding to the quiet peaceful nature of this B&B and there is the relaxing Saco River flowing in the backyard with plenty of adirondack chairs to settle into. The House is located on Rt302, which can make for a little traffic noise, but is perfect for the short drives to the hiking and sightseeing areas in the White Mtns and equally to the Conway area. Thanks Dan and Nancy for the great stay!

I am visiting the Covered Bridge House B&B as I am writing this review, and I am very happy with my choice of B&B in the White Mountains area. We have a sweetly decorated bedroom with our own bathroom, both of which are extremely clean. The bed is very comfortable and we love the iPod alarm clock dock! The B&B has free wifi, which works great, especially upstairs, in our bedroom. Also, there is a living room with lots of books and a convenient stack of menus from local restaurants. Breakfast is amazing, almost a 3-course meal! Fresh grapefruit, cinnamon rolls, walnut pancakes, yummie! The location of the B&B is great for exploring the White Mountains, the only thing that I would have liked was some more restaurants within walking distance. The owners are very friendly and helpful in any way.

In short: I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone and would definitely come back if I would be in the White Mountains again.

If I could afford to go on a permanent vacation this is the kind of place that would make it a wonderful life. The rooms in the B&B are warm and inviting. The grounds around the Inn are well manicured. The covered bridge gift shoppe is very unique. The innkeepers, Dan and Nancy cooked us a great breakfast every morning. There beautiful young daughter served as a wonderful hostess. The location of the Inn was perfect for us.
