We were on a trip to see Harvard, MIT, and Boston area, when we stopped by Hampton Beach thinking we could see the sunset. We found out as we were an hour away that Hotwire had overbooked us, and we had no place to stay for the entire weekend. Arriving at Hampton Beach, we loved the environment, and went around looking for vacancies. This was our 2nd stop, and the owner was such a nice guy! He chatted with us and let us know he ran a resort, Isaiah Tubs in Sandbanks, and also a B&B in Quebec. He was so hospitable seeing that we were Canadians. He did the usual salesman thing and sold us the biggest room with kitchenette and it worked out so well! Everything was great till we went to check out. Two kids, most likely freshmen in university or college kids were manning the front. We asked if we could do a late check out so we had time to wash the dishes, clean up, and take a dip in the pool. "Max" the attendant was extremely rude, let us know our room was booked at 11am (YEAH RIGHT, on a MONDAY) and we needed to leave asap (It was 9am at the time). Feeling flustered at his attitude, we asked if it would be okay if we could atleast leave our car in the lot (almost empty at the time as it was a Monday morning) while we had breakfast a block away. He rolled his eyes, looked at the clock and said only for half an hour.

Needless to say we didn't leave our car in that lot. When we came to give him our room key, he took it, threw it in a pile and went back to his computer, without even a thank you, or please visit us again.

Whatever good attitude we had about the motel with the owner the first night, was ruined by this young man and his ridiculous arrogant attitude.

Nonetheless, decent motel, clean beds, kitchen, GREAT AC, Air Wick in the rooms, a good place if all you're using the room is to sleep and perhaps, eat.

P.S. We stayed in room #19, and there's absolutely NO WIFI even though motel says there is.

Room Tip: Room 19 is good!

This hotel was the dumps of all dumps.The manger bill was the most rude and unkind person i every met. He needs to work on his people skills.We had to park four blocks away from the hotel and we had a older person in a wheel chair.We had friends staying in sea brook and had to check in with him if they stop by to see us.The place smelled like mold and mildew .When we said something to bill the manger he said you dont like it go some where else what a jerk I WILL NEVER

A lot of reviews on this place are bad but let me just say .. pay attention to the date they were written! My fiance and our two year old son stayed at The Royal Crest Motor Inn 7/22/14 to 7/24/14 and may I just say it was great. The survice was wonderful, they were so polite! A woman named Marie (who told me she was the one in charge of cleaning rooms with the girls) was the nicest lady ever and always made sure we had what we needed , and our room had the best air freshener in it that smelt delicious (unlike the normal muggy smell you usually experience from motels) Our A.C was also something to brag about , it actually worked too well to the point were we had to shut it off! The motel was right across from "H" street which brought you to blinks fried dough and Mama Leone's (the best italian restaurant) this was the perfect location because it was off the main strip and away from the crowd but it was a two minute walk towards it! There was a man testing the pool water and cleaning the pool every morning before unlocking the door , which any other motel ive ever stayed in ive actually NEVER seen someone do ! The pool water was so refreshing and to make matters better our room was number 37 which was right in front of the pool and our little guy loved that ! If you took the time to read this please give this motel a try and remeber that every motel can and will improve with the reviews that we share ! I will definitely be back !!

Every year our family of six enjoy a vacation at hampton beach...upon our arrival we learned that not only did the the hotel we were supposed to stay in completely disregard our reservation agreements by giving us a room that was too small but did everything they could to profit from the fact that we need a room together as a family... Forced to search for an alternative we stumbled upon the royal crest motor inn where the owner and his staff took the time to listen to our story and was kind enough to do everything in they're power to find a room that made the rest of our vacation the best we have had in the many years. Just when we were going the cut our vacation short they saved the day and for that i sincerely recommend staying here! Thank-you royal crest!

We were very well received by the owner (new administration since 2012), the rooms were clean and very reasonably priced. The bathrooms are small but ok for the price. Excellent service and he was enthusiasm to receive people from Quebec/Montreal to his hotel. Very very close to the beach. I appreciated the availability of free BBQ to prepare our meals to avoid restaurants. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip at Hampton Beach.

Big thanks to Mr. Bill and I will see you soon!

be warned ....do not stay at this hotel....our room was broken into the first night we were here and all our valuables were stolen !!! a child could pick the locks on the doors in these rooms..there is no security and lots of vagrants and transients living here...on a brighter note the manager did put us up in another much better room for the weekend at no charge....good thing cause we had no money to pay since all our money was stolen!!!!

I suspect that some reviews are being posted here for the wrong place... (please let me explain folks, from my own personal experience!)

This exact place (named & described above) was worth the price... but please do not confuse it with the drastically inferior (Royale Coach Motor Lodge at 509 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH)!

Sadly I did originally mistake the names and had the worst experience at the similar named Lafayette Road disaster!

First off; The Horrendous Royale Coach Motor Lodge "told me one price and then charged me $30 more at check-out" (lying the whole time about the original agreed price and threatening to call the police on my family, if I didn't pay the extra $30 per night)!

These similar named imposters are "The Most Dishonest Motel Owners I Ever Ran Into"... and all for a ratty room that had no key for the front door (always unlocked), non-working smoke detectors, damaged/peeling up rugs and bathroom linoleum, missing floor grates (aka open holes in the floor), dangerous black mold in the bathroom, scalding hot water that burns instantly, and bare exposed electrical outlets with clear evidence of shorting (a fire or electrocution just waiting to happen).

Go to the "Royal Crest Motor Inn", not the "Royale Coach Motor Lodge"...

Don't Make the same mistake I did Folks... (and please don't post here for the Royale Coach Motor Lodge, also in Hampton NH)

Trust me if you value honesty and the safety for your family... stay here instead! :-)
