“Sunday brunch buffet at the Old Salt”
Reviewed 2 September 2012 via mobile

While we were in Hampton this year, we decided to stop at the Old Salt for brunch before heading out on Sunday. I'd have to say, you should not skip this brunch while in town. The wait was non-existent and we sat out on the deck with the beautiful morning sun beaming down. Staff were extremely friendly and I enjoyed the chocolate fountain several times along with just about everything you could imagine. At roughly 15.00per person it was worth every penny. You will not be disappointed.

Although the room has dated fixtures and finishes, the bed had nice linens and was comfortable. The staff was not friendly or helpful when we asked for places nearby to walk to or discover. When we asked for help on finding something to do, we were pointed to the rack of local maps and the Inn is not even the map. It is located at a very busy intersection and nearby Hampton Beach is tacky. North Hampton Beach is lovely and would be the best area to get out and walk around.

Room Tip: Request a first floor room on the west (back) side of the building.

Thank you for your response. I am so sorry that we did not stop to tell you about some of the beautiful places to discover in our area. We love our little coastal section of New Hampshire and our staff is usually eager to tell our guests all about it and share little tips for exploring.

I’m glad that you discovered North Hampton Beach. It is a lovely, quiet stretch of beach, as are some of the beaches a little further north on Route 1A. Hampton Beach does offer more action, with souvenir shops, fried dough stands and arcades as well as free outdoor concerts and events.

There really is something for everyone in this area and we hope that we can share more of it with you on your next visit.

Best Regards,
Maureen

We go up the coast of Maine every summer and try to find different stops on our way. This year we stopped in Hampton and Lamies Inn was a great discovery. I like the charm and quirkiness of bed and breakfasts and my husband just wants to pull in somewhere.Lamies offered something for both of us-an historic building,a lovely bedroom with brick wall and four poster bed and an additional sitting area outside the room where I could curl up with a book while my husband watched T.V.for me and early morning coffee and a newspaper for my husband. The continental breakfast has a great variety and a comfortable place to eat it.

Very friendly staff members, made sure we had everything we needed. We have been coming here for the past seven years and highly recommend to try this Inn. The Continental breakfast has a great variety to choose from .

Room Tip: We always book on the second floor since the Inn is quite old, do not want having people walking...

Great family run historic hotel in Hampton, NH...conveniently close to Hampton Beach and upscale North Hampton. We stayed on their "Nature Package", which included info for hiking nearby trails and other outdoor destinations. It also included two awesome packed lunches and water bottles for the day of our hike...plus, upon our return to the hotel, we were given vouchers for two complimentary cocktails and an appetizer!

Rooms are clean and cozy, and include the usual TV, microwave, and mini-refrigerator. What the hotel lacks in 21st century amenities, it more than makes up for with sincere hospitality and conveniences. On site is a restaurant, that's popular with more than just hotel guests, and a friendly tavern that's open late. A complimentary continental breakfast is available daily.

Will definitely stay there again on a future trip to Hampton!

Stayed at Lamies Inn and ate in the Old Salt Tavern for the first time. My wife and I enjoyed our stay .. staff was very friendly ... ate at the bar and bartender made us feel welcome and was very accomodating ... food was great with large portions provided .. atmosphere of the whole place put you back in time with the hand hewn beams and fireplaces. Only negative, in the inn the bathrooms are small but this what to expect in a buliding that was built in the 1700's.We were there Sunday evening and was quite busy .. reservation in the dining room or bar area recommended.

Will definitely go back .. very good value

Room Tip: We were told all rooms have the same small bathrooms .. it is a common shortcoming listed by everyon...

Stayed for our second time at Lamies Inn. Room was nicely decorated. Mind you this is an old inn. Think lots wood and beams. Bed was very comfortable, slept great. Room had a mini frig, microwave and flat screen tv. We ate dinner in the Old Salt Tavern. Food was delicious, just like last time. After our concert, we returned to the Tavern. A duo was playing and my martini was perfect. Next morning we were served a complimentary continental breakfast. There was something for everyone, and the coffee was great.
If you are going to Hampton, this is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: First floor was convenient. No noise.
