Trumbull House Bed and Breakfast

Hillary and her Daughter Margaret Pridgen are the utmost when it comes to courtesy. The Blue room was very nice. We have stayed here previously in the Terra Cotta Room. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast is the greatest. You have your choice of several freshly made items and it starts out with fresh fruit and scones or muffins. There is great value and qulaity for the price you pay. A stay here is an exquisite time.

I sometimes approach B&Bs with dread. Over-the-top decor, intrusive questions...the B&B that offers a warm welcome while remaining 100% professional is a rare gem. In my recent stay, I found The Trumbull House a haven: my room was spacious and beautifully decorated; the food, spectacular; the setting, park-like. What I liked best, however, was that I was given ample support, yet I was allowed to set my own pace and style. It takes very special hosts to be able to anticipate guests' needs and provide them discretely and generously. A class act all around.

I seem to enjoy each stay at the Trumbull House even more than the previous ones (all of which have been great). This trip, I stayed in the Blue Room which was every bit as comfortable and charming as the Terra Cotta Room that I've enjoyed on prior visits. A lovely, tranquil room with a beautiful view of Mink Brook from the windows. As always, I'm at a loss to come up with more superlatives to describe the scrumptious breakfast that is so attentively served by Hilary. Her care and attention is much appreciated and the Trumbull House continues to be my absolute favorite place to stay.

The Trumbull is a gem of B&B located in the west/central town of Hanover, New Hampshire not too far from Dartmouth. The Inn itself is in a very quiet location with nicely manicured grounds. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. Other rooms appeared to be just as nice and I think there were around 4-5 rooms in total. There is a small "business center" that provides access to a computer and printer. The best part of the stay was the gourmet breakfast in the morning. Home cooked to order and it was delicious. A great value and we will be returning for a few more nights in 2011.

Room Tip: A GPS would be a good idea.

Everything about our stay was delightful! Our innkeeper was incredibly friendly and hospitable, the rooms were immaculate and tasteful, and breakfast was absolutely amazing. Even though our party arrived extremely late at night, we were still greeted with a note and an open door. Each room had privacy, the internet and office station were very helpful, and the grounds were beautiful. Although it was too cold to take advantage of the pond, basketball court, and sprawling lawn, the view was gorgeous! Breakfast was also great. We personally ordered our entrees as well as the time of breakfast and received a truly delectable meal.

My two night stay at the Trumbull House B&B was a true delight and I wished I didn't have to leave so soon. I don't know why anyone would stay at a cookie cutter hotel and miss the opportunity to experience New Hampshire warmth and hospitality at it's finest from the innkeeper, Hilary Pridgen. The relaxed (but classy) come and go was like home away from home. Everything from the lovely, spacious rooms (mine was the Blue Room) to the delicious breakfast (the blueberry scones alone are worth the stay) to the graciously appointed furnishings and the beautiful surrounding acreage made this stay a wonderful experience. To know a place, you must know the people and the Trumbull House offers both par excellence.

We stayed two nights in this B&B and were not totally happy with it. When we arrived, nobody was at home, there was only a note on which room is ours (the Blue Room it was). We felt a bit awkward to enter a house when the owner is not at home... The owner Hilary arrived later, but she didn't introduce herself and we didn't get the warm welcome you would expect from a B&B. The room was just average and not that pretty. Everything was a bit shabby and needs refurbishment, especially the bathroom. The road was not a problem at night, but my husband heard a neighbor guest snoring. The provided towels smelt disgusting, they are obviously changed each day, but the smell was the same. There are keys now to lock your room, but we only got ours on the second day. The swimming pond in the (large) garden didn't look inviting.
The house is not located directly in Hanover, but the surroundings are nice and for hiking it was perfect. The B&B has a business center with a printer which was positive. Breakfast was a real highlight and you can order it à la carte. Additionally, you get freshly baked goodies like muffins or scones.
Everything was not as luxurious as announced on the Trumbull House website and the price is a bit too high in my opinion.
