Gibson House Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 3 Haverhill B&B and Inns
Reviewed 17 August 2012

My husband and I have enjoyed staying at the Gibson House B & B for several years in a row. We usually stay for four nights and enjoy the warm hospitality, comfortable rooms, and delicious meals. The inn is quaint and each room is thematically appointed. Located nearby hiking trails and the gorgeous Presidential Mountain Range, the Gibson House is perfectly located for a summer vacation. We look forward to our visit next year!

We found the place run down, operated by non-resident summer owners who have put no capital into maintenance, shabby surroundings, overgrown lawns and shrubbery. They are nice people and the breakfasts are pretty good, but really??? The thing they do best is photograph their nondescript bedrooms into attractive pictures.

I just stayed at the Gibson House for my summer getaway. The location is ideal for sightseeing. Each room has a creative theme. It is very clean, with great bathrooms. The breakfast were plentiful and delicious. The views out back are beautiful, with Vermont just on the other side of the valley. The innkeepers are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. I will be back again next year!

Room Tip: Each room was very good because of the different themes

My children and I stayed at the Gibson House recently, our third visit. We love the imaginatively themed and decorated rooms, the lovely grounds, and our hosts, Susie and Marty, could not be more accommodating. Breakfast is always a treat. I have stayed at many b&b's over the years, and the Gibson House is among the best. Highly recommended.

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere romatic for our anniversary. We did a web search for the area and we came across the Gibson House in Haverhill, NH. We got to spend our anniversary in a room that made us feel as if we were at a beach resort in Nantucket. We had a great view from the windows of the beautiful gardens and watched gorgeous sunsets from an adjacent covered terrraced. This was truly romatic and very relaxing. We woke up to coffee brewing and bread baking in the morning...Yummy!What's not to love!! During the day we visited Dartmouth and had dinner. The next day we toured Burlington. We want to come back! Thanks Marty the Innkeeper for all the great travel tips!

Room Tip: Look at the webpage. It is very complete.

A great find! Old New England Charm with gorgeous views of the lush NH countryside. Rooms were large and clean, inn keepers very knowledgeable of local attractions especially daily bike trips (our interest) , breakfasts were more than hearty. Hard to go wrong. Great fun. Thanks CBB444

We stayed here in July 2011. We were immediately alerted to the ramshackle condition of the exterior of the house...a foreshadowing of the inside!!! The rooms were large, and we did have a renovated bathroom, but our room was dirty. Dust all over the windowsills, moldings..only the barest of housekeeping had been done. Dust in the hallways, cobwebs on the chandeliers. We were hoping that the breakfast would compensate for the general lack of cleanliness, but no such luck. Some fruit on our table, an unappetizing "french toast" and a strip of beef bacon. And the cost was just about $200.00 per night. Definitely overpriced for a night's sleep. The innkeepers were friendly, but that does not make up for an overall unpleasant experience.
