We had a very nice dinner at Walter's and enjoyed the views of the lake and the endless boat traffic back & forth on the channel separating Big & Little Squam. There are two levels of dining so you can get a good view from every table. Our dinner was very good. I had the seafood casserole which has cod, scallops, shrimp and lobster meat in a flavorful, light lemon/butter sauce. It was a bit too much to finish. The rice pilaf was so-so (seemed like it was way overcooked) and the green beans were good. My husband had the mahi-mahi special and thought it was excellent - moist and light. We splurged on dessert and split the snowballs: vanilla bean ice cream balls rolled in coconut & crushed almonds, served on top of some hot fudge sauce and a garnish of whipped cream. Oh so yummy. Service was very good. The bar was hopping (it overlooks the bridge so also a good place to sit) and had live music. We've had lunch here a couple of times in the past and it is a good spot with a good menu. Prices are reasonable for what you get.
