“Nice but dated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

Our family loved the condos set up. My kids enjoyed watching tv and playing in the 3rd floor loft. The unit set up is great. Full kitchen and family room on first floor. 2nd floor has master bedroom with jacuzzi bath and the other bedroom has 2 twin beds with bath in hallway. Downside is its dated. Chairs in family room around game table were worn and dirty - we didn't sit on those. Couch was fine and kitchen was nice. Looks like management is trying to update as our unit had new windows. All in all location is great and condo is nice. Some furniture needs replacing but we enjoyed ourselves.

We are 25 yr. owners of one week in August at CLR and, so, we have seen this resort go through the very good, the not-so-good, the bad and now, once again, the better. Since August of 2010 when we last used our week, many maintenance issues have been addressed, improved or attended to. We have always really liked this resort for its facilities, it's location! and for its value. It made us sad to see it slowly lose quality due to poor maintenance. We are happy to report that the conditions have improved to the point that we would once again recommend this resort to others.
This August of 2013, we found our unit clean, maintained properly and everything in working order. To be clear, CLR is not a luxury resort as furniture is standard but sturdy & comfortable, units are roomy but not flashy and appliances work but are not the latest model. BUT it is a terrific value for families in that is will sleep 4 people comfortably in beds and several (2-3) children in the loft area. In a pinch, you could sleep someone on the sleep sofa in the LR. With 3 bathrooms, 3 floors, a living area and eat-in kitchen ( good size table for playing games/cards), several TVs, there is room to spread out when inside. But who stays inside in No. Conway? CLR has a really good pool area ( which you rarely have to share from morning to mid-day) a recently updated jacuzzi and sauna, rec area for kids, swing set, tennis courts and good parking. The layout of the CLR grounds is relaxing, quiet! and separates you from the crowds in the area. We think that this is really a perfect place for families who want a vacation in the No. Conway area without breaking their budget. It provides great value! Some people have complained about the consistency of the cleanliness. This has not been our experience but I would say that the office is attentive to complaints and responds promptly. For all these reasons, we feel confident and happy to once again recommend this terrific family-oriented resort. I would give the furnishings a "good" rating, but everything else a "very good" rating.

Room Tip: We like Bldg. C because it is in the back of the property and is very quiet. There is also a green s...

I wrote a previous review of this property last year. I visited again this year during the same week and was pleasantly surprised. As I said in last years review, management was working to try and improve the property after it had been neglected. The improvements are steadily continuing, as the place was in much better shape than the year before. The new floors and windows are very nice. They are also obviously spending a lot more time cleaning the units between guests. We enjoyed it so much this year that we decided to purchase a week in one of the available units.

I have been going to north conway area for years and cathedral ledge is definitely my favorite place to stay. My kids love the indoor outdoor pool which is never crowded and I love the hot tub. The units are all roomy and currently being updated.. Its 5 minutes from the outlets and 15 from storyland. You cant beat the size of the unit and the location. It also has a washer and dryer.

We went to North Conway area because we've been there before and it so beautiful up there.. we planned to go to Story Land for my 2 1/2 year old daughter... When we got there .. the lodge was nice , the "heated" pool look good.. outside part was kinda small... with little kids, we were going to spend lots of time at the pool... the unit itself was outdated, the carpet was aweful, but we brushed it off.... first morning... that night I went to boil water for tea.... smoke detectors went off.... (They went off, cause of boiling tea??), tried to cook... smoke detectors went off... needless to say we all had cereal for breakfast... we decided to go swimming in the "heated" pool..... if you mean "heated" being 60 degrees... pool was ice cold.... we never went to the pool again and even complained.... the lady at the front desk was in denial....

We ended up leaving early due to it being bike week (little kids hate bikes.. too loud).... we cleaned up, washed the dishes etc... we checked the papers and nothing said we had to vaccuum... so we left without doing it...

a week later... Kathy the manager called and said the place was excessively dirty... saying there were dishes everywhere, crayon marks on the windows, crumbs on the floor... accused us of staining the couch (which had numerous stains on in the first place), staining sheets... she kept on harping about crayon on the window and was asking why we let the kids use a crayon on the window... anybody who has\had a 2 1/2 year old knows,,, you turn your back for a second crayon can get anywhere... she claims it is difficult to remove... actually if you use water.. it comes off pretty easy... she claimed to have pictures, but when I asked to see them, she said she didn't have them.

They hire a cleaner to come in after each vacationer... but it looks like if the cleaner has to do what they are hired to do, they complain....

we ended up leaving a blanket up there (2 1/2 year olds favorite), we called and they put it aside for some friends that were going up the following week.... the same lady Kathy started to say everything to my friends and started to exaggerate even more... now claiming they had to replace the couch....

read the other bad reviews... doesn't seem like the place is used that often and when it is... they try to make stuff up to get the 150$ deposit (that they tell you when you check in... not when you register for it though)

place seems desperate for money and it looks like they will do anything to get it... even cheating customers...

never going to this place ever again...

We booked this time share in the hopes of having some family time and skiing. We got both. The location of the condo was excellent and there were many ski hills to choose from. The front desk staff was very helpful - they even gave us directions over the phone while we were driving and happened to be there late when we checked in late. We are a family of 6 and our children loved the pool and hot tub and having a 2 bedroom condo with the loft gave everyone the space they needed. We hope to come back again maybe in the summer and will definitely try to come again in the winter and try some other ski hills. Thanks for a great week. :)

I have been vacationing at Cathedral Ledge since the 1980s when my parents purchased two weeks-original owners! Other relatives followed suit. It was a showcase place to stay and we had many wonderful family vacations there.

For the past several years, we have taken our children there and have vacationed with my sister's family. While previous management didn't do much to the property where there was much to be done, the new management as of 2011, has done much work in the short time in charge!

Our last visit in July 2012 showed much improvement! Unit was clean, any issues were addressed immediately, pool was great!

This is the best location--near everything like Story Land, Jeb's General Store in N. Conway Ctr., outlets, Echo Lake, and more!

We all had a wonderful time and this past year brought friends with us new to the area. They were impressed with the accommodations and all the area has to offer.

Kudos to the management team for getting this place back on track! Great place to stay!
