I was on a ski/road trip through New England last spring and my friend booked us for a night in Jackson at The Wildcat Inn. I wasn't expecting much because we were in the middle of nowhere. This place pleasantly surprised me.
We had a 2 room suite that seemed like something out of the 1800's. The bathroom was tiny but the suite was very comfortable.
The biggest surprise however was the Tavern. We pulled into town on a weekday ( A Tuesday I believe). We thought we would probably grab dinner and a couple of beers somewhere then head back to to our room and watch T.V. We headed down to the Tavern in the late afternoon and the bartender told us tonight was local talent night. We came back after dinner and the tavern was packed. The place was jumpin all night. We had to leave around midnight because we were skiing early the next day. I couldn't believe how busy the bar in a small hotel in Jackson was on a Tuesday night.
I would recommend this place, especially to skiiers because it's cheap and close to Wildcat ski resort which is a decent sized hill that isn't too busy.
