We absolutely loved the Carter Notch Inn, everything from the location, the facilities, the rooms, the breakfasts, the owners Dick and Sally and the dog and cat. It was absolutely fabulous. A magnificent setting with warm friendly hosts.

We had a lovely stay at the Carter Notch Inn, Dick and Sally made us feel very welcome and are extremely helpful with planning your excursions in the area. The inn is spotlessly clean and very homely and we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived enjoying complementary drinks on the porch and taking in the fantastic scenery.
Dudley and Lulu added enjoyment to our stay, with Dudley in particular providing entertainment on the porch.
The breakfasts were excellent in particular the stuffed french toast. All in all an excellent place to stay and hope to return in the future.

We just had our 4th or 5th visit to CNI. As always, Sally and Dick (plus Dudley the dog and Lulu the cat) offered a warm welcome, lovely accommodations, superb breakfasts and knowledge of local restaurants and places to visit. We brought friends with us and introduced them to this lovely B&B & now, like us, they plan to return. If you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the Conways, Jackson is the place and CNI the inn of choice.

Room Tip: We've stayed in at least 4 different rooms and have liked them all. The inn is very quiet. You...

This is our second stay at Carter Notch Inn and I can't say enough wonderful things about this five-star inn. It's the only place in Jackson I'll ever want to stay and I can't wait to return. Each room of the inn is impeccably furnished and as comfortable as anyone could want. Apart from its beauty and cozy charm, innkeepers Dick and Sally are warm, friendly and super welcoming. But, the star of Carter Notch Inn is 95 lb Old English Sheepdog, Dudley, who steals your heart at the front door. (And we miss his beautiful brother, Henry, who stole our hearts on our last visit.) Lulu, the one-eyed cat curls up in front of the fire each night to complete the perfect picture of hearth and home. I would move in if I could! If you're looking for the perfect place to stay in Jackson, this is it!

There is a reason this B & B in the White Mountains is number one!! It has everything!
Lovely house, great hosts, delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, and beautiful setting!
We were even fortunate enough to see a black bear in the tree one afternoon as we were sitting out on the porch. We were enjoyed refreshments when Dick quietly told us to get our cameras!
We walked down to the tree as a group with Dick being extremely careful of our safety.
What fun it was when the bear crossed the road right in front of the inn porch to return to the woods! We also loved the innkeepers pets--a darling cat and delightful dog. The breakfasts were some of the best we have ever enjoyed! We would definitely go back here again!

We've never been moved to write a review before, but this B & B and its owners just cry out for us to break our silence. Dick and Sally are that rare type of hosts - welcoming, helpful, fun and (in the best possible sense) unpretentious. The location is peaceful, yet near enough to all the attractions to entice the visitor away from the garden, the wine in the fridge and the ever-fascinating Dudley and Lulu. We never saw a bear but manged three beavers in the pond one evening. It was a home from home for our five nights and we'll be persuading friends and family to visit.

My husband and I stayed here on a tour of New England for our first wedding anniversary. Of all the places we stayed on our trip this is the only place we are going to do our best to get back to even as early as again this year. The owners impressively friendly and helpful, they helped us with all the questions I had for where to do and the best places to eat for our celebration. There rooms were impeccably cleaned and truly homely feeling, I know this sounds like a cooky cutter good review but I grew up in the Catskill Mountains surrounded by tourism and even in many homes who's families owned B&B's The Carter Notch inn I would recommend to anyone, truly. There breakfast was the best breakfast we had on the week we were away from home, maybe the best we have had all year.We had the opportunity to look into each room before we left because the Monday we left they didn't have anyone expected to stay so we could snoop around. We opted for Room 9 which is there least expensive room on the top floor. When we go back we will likely chose the most expensive because the our room was very nice, the more you spend the better it gets from there, it really does make a difference to spend a little extra if you can the rooms are wonderful.

Room Tip: A Wonderful place to stay for anyone looking to get away from every day life.
