Nestlenook has very special sleigh rides. We were here 22 years ago for our honeymoon and took a sleigh ride. We came back for our 22nd anniversary and not much has changed. We actually took two sleigh rides this time. One on Christmas Eve and one the day after Christmas. Our driver was Bobby and the two Belgian draft horses were Pete and Fred for both rides. Both were excellent rides. The one on Christmas Eve was icy, as freezing rain had fell in the previous days on top of snow. Bobby did a great job taking us through the icy woods and fields that entails the trail. The ride on the 26th was more than beautiful. It was snowing which made it that much more special. Courier and Ives or Thomas Kinkade could not have painted a better winter scene. The trail takes you througout the Nestlenook property. You go through their fields and up and down some small hills. You see all the highlights of their property such as the lake and the skating area. Unfortunately the 200 year old Inn burned down in early November so that is not there any longer. Hot Chocolate is also availble in the Gazebo before or after your sleigh ride. Ice skating and snow shoeing is also available but we have never did either. All of this is weather dependant of course. The fee for the sleigh ride is,IIRC,$18 per person. Well worth it, IMO.
This is perfect outing for couples or families. if you are in the Jackson area in the winter you should not miss the opportunity to take a magical sleigh ride through the Nestlenook Farm Resort.
