“Lovely food in a quaint setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2011

We went on a Tuesday which is buy one get one free on entrees with the cheapest being free.
Nice touch was the owner of the inn visiting every table to chat.
Food was excellent and I really liked the cranberry butter which was served with warm bread whilst you wait for your meal.
Good wine list and the only downside was that the dessert which I really wanted to try ( chocolate bag) was unavailable, Also spoke to someone else who had been unable to get this on another night so maybe they ought to make more!
Great meal in nice surroundings.

Thank you very much for your great review! Gary likes to meet our dinner guests to find out if they enjoyed their experience and how they came to choose us - always interesting to get such feedback. We are sorry you did not get to try the chocolate bag. These are hand made in our kitchen and are quite time consuming to make. They are the feature of the Italian Night which precedes the Two for One night, that may explain why we had run out. Of course, just like our guests we do not like to run out of menu items, we probably experienced an unusual level of demand. Please come back to try it!! Sandra, Gary and the team

“The setting is peaceful, quaint, and festive with a varied delicious menu to please any appetite.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

We were guests at the Inn with a comfortable room in the Main Inn, formerly a historic church called Sleigh Bells. We enjoyed a great extended stay with wonderful maid service, pleasant hosts Gary and Family, their Golden Retriever puppy(cuteness factor), two pools both indoors and out, fitness center with his/hers locker rooms, hot tub, and a full service Aveda Spa. Oh yes, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a smile? Priceless. There is a full service cabana poolside outdoors, a playground a hop skip and jump from there. Gary and his wife thought of every single detail, including a fire pit, coffee station, and even smores kits for the children. The Inn is family-friendly which is not the norm for a luxury B&B but voilà our family vacation was fantastic. Our young daughters had a great time! We will be back at the Christmas Farm Inn during ski season. This is not only the finest Inn in Jackson, NH but the best family-friendly B&B we have experienced in the White Mountains region.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. Everybody here loves children and we enjoy the busy summer months when we host a lot of families. We promote an inclusive environment where everybody can enjoy themselves. It is great to see families make use of all the facilities we have to offer. We thank you very much for your recommendation and look forward to seeing you all again in winter! Sandra, Gary and team

“Ambience is great, food is so-so”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2011

We stayed at the hotel here, so it was a no-brainer to bring my kid here for our meals. They have a good kids menu and it is extremely family friendly - and as a result, chock full of kids! It's very cozy and pleasant in the dining room, and they have a decent wine list - but the food is pretty average and the prices are not great value. I wouldn't eat here if we weren't staying at the hotel.

Thank you for your review. We generally receive excellent comments about our menu and value for money. We offer authentic country cuisine made from fresh and all-natural ingredients. Our beef and chicken comes from organically raised and fed animals which gives you wonderful flavor and texture and a better quality of meat. Our award-winning chef and his team have created a menu that features traditional, everyday fayre as well as more interesting sauteed dishes and house specialties. We are disappointed to read that you did not perceive this offering nor value, but do hope that you will try us again.

“Best restaurant in the area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2011

This restaurant was amazingly good from beginning to end. Started with shrimp cocktail, which was great and the cocktail sauce wasn't too spicy like it is in some restaurants. Perfect. Then had the buffalo steak special, which was very delicious. Service was superb. Never had to wait for long periods for anything like in many other restaurants. We have eaten at 7 different restaurants during our week in North Conway, and this was the best one of the week. And, we even saw a black bear walking around outside, which was very cool to see.

“OK, but not for foodies.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2011

Dinner for five last week.

Dining area full of children. Don't cone here until 8:00 pm if you like eating with adults.

Food ranged from good to indifferent to bizarre.

Worst was overcooked linguine with flavorless, doughy meatballs.

Best dish was also a bit bizarre. Properly-cooked, large tortellini filled with ground beef and veal, served with an excellent horseradish cream sauce. So far so good. But the addition of small boiled potatoes and freshly grated carrot was bizarre.

Salads were fine. Buffalo tenders app was quite tasty.

Good dessert.

Warm friendly service from owner's daughter.

Well-prepared cocktails.

Thank you for your review and we were glad to read that you enjoyed your meal with us. We take all comments very seriously and discuss these with our award-winning head chef, Stan Shafer.

All our food is cooked fresh and we try to source natural and organic ingredients wherever we can. Our style of cuisine and service is country casual with good, honest food. Our tortellacci are very delicious and the addition of potatoes an unusual, but tasty move, especially with that wonderful sauce. We note your comment about the linguini and will address this.

During school vacation we host a lot of families who visit the many local attractions. You will find that all family friendly restaurants in the area will be busy with families dining late. There are other times of the year such as fall foliage and winter when our guests are mainly couples and groups of friends.

Once again, thank you for your time to review your dining experience.
