Our dinner at the Local was the best meal in our week's stay in the lakes region. The chicken liver pate starter was a great way to begin- as good as we've had in Paris. We had the quail and pot roast mains, both were wonderful and the helpings were ample. Chef Kevin also owns the local bakery, so we couldn't pass up dessert. The freshly made "doughnuts" and the creme brulee were well crafted; a tasty way to finish an impeccable meal. Whitney, our server, was knowledgeable and unpretentious. We'll be back everytime we are in the area. .

The place is very small and can be loud. The food is fresh local products and very good. The menu changes with whatever is ripe and ready. Half price apps and wine Tuesday and Wednesday are a great way to try it out but you will be tempted by the meals and even more so by the dessert. This is not a place to go if you want plain food. Go and try something new and different.

We had dinner here while on vacation in the lake district. The restaurant is situated in the old train station and was very busy when we arrived so we elected to eat at the bar. The room is moderately attractive. My wife and I shared a Greek salad which was very good and then had the pork schnitzel for our main course. The dish was prepared with the pork on top of a mound of mashed potatoes with butter sauce. While the pork was tasty it was overwhelmed by the considerable amount of mashed potatoes that consumed the entire plate. The chef came over to ask how we liked the place and our food which was appreciated by us. The restaurant has only been open a short while and they need to get their act together.

I have eaten plenty of delicious meals at the Laconia Village Bakery, so I was eager to try Local while I was home visiting friends & family. We were a party of seven and were able to sample a variety of drinks, appetizers and entrees. I LOVE the concept, the location is fantastic and the food was delicious! Our adult beverages featured blueberries, strawberry, rhubarb and even our basic drinks were delish too. From calamari and oysters to gnocci and ravioli, we ate just about everything on the menu and managed to cleaned our plates! I will definitely return to LOCAL and refer my friends & family. Nice work, Kev!

We discovered this gem this year and it quickly has become our favorite spot for when we travel visit our vacation home at the lake. The area was in need of palace like this as the food is so unique and one of a kind dishes. They serve as much local products as they can and the open kitchen adds a nice ambiance to the setting as you see the different dishes being delivered to other tables.

The menu changes often so it is typical to always have new surpries to try. Great staff and outstanding service with specialty drinks has made this the place for us to go without a second thought.
