The cost of the tickets were the same no matter the age--TOO much for the size park (as much as we paid for Water Country) There were only a few rides under 48" could ride--and we did those many times, until he got bored. The Wave Pool was great--huge waves and fun. The water in the Lazy River was dirty and full of leaves--a bit scuzzy to my liking. It poured buckets during the day (no thunder or lightening) the rides continued, and our towels got soaked. :( Probably would of been a better day if it was sunny and warm.
What concerned me was SOME of the life guards sitting in their station with their eyes closed or looking the opposite way than where the activity was. At the beginning of the month we were at Water Country and the life guards are in action--walking 'the beat' and being in the water at the end of the rides to help people out, instead of just sitting on a chair watching. Would I drive 2 1/2 hours to go there again? Probably not.

Thanks for taking the time to write but I'm sorry it wasn't a better day for you. We love feedback but I want to address a few of your comments.

We offer a tremendous value, especially when compared to others (like water country that you mentioned). Check the websites, our rates are less. We don't charge more for adults to play, we don't charge for parking or tube rentals and you can bring a cooler in the park with your own food. All with a competitive list of rides!

Regarding water quality, we have a fully automated sanitation system and we do manual tests several times daily. We exceed all water quality standards mandated by the state of NH. One of the best features of our park is the amount of grassy areas and trees in the park. Unfortunately, sometimes leaves and other debris enter the pools but they are vacuumed daily.

Staff training and assessment is ongoing all season long. We use your feedback to ensure our staff is always at the ready in the event a safety issue arises. Thanks again for taking the time to write!

This is a great waterpark. Wave pool is awesome, as well as the lazy river. Tube slides are tons of fun. If you are daring, try the Bonzai ride.

We've been to several waterparks this summer, and Whales Tale was the busiest of all of them. We got half price tickets from Alpine Adventures. If we had paid full price per person, I would have felt gipped. The lines were all very long. The staff all looked bored. We spent a lot of time in the lazy river, and kids just kept running by us and hitting our tubes- not very relaxing. I don't think I would return.

Thanks for the post and I'm glad to hear you had fun. There is few things better than the sound of laughter and watching kids play. This is one of many reasons why guests time after time tell us that the Whale's Tale is there favorite waterpark. Our location keeps the crowds much much smaller than our competitors located closer to the city. As a result families are comfortable letting the kids explore on their own. On the other side of the coin, we are big enough that most guests stay entertained for the entire day. Like we tell all our our customers, the days with the best weather will always attract the biggest crowd. If you're looking for a more relaxing waterpark experience, here or at any waterpark in North America, we always recommend visiting on a day that doesn't provide the best weather forecast of the week. Otherwise, prepare for a busy day. Again we're thanks for visiting both our companies and we hope this information provides a little more insight for planning your next visit.

The place is action from start to finish! Yes the water is chilly, always, but it's northern New Hampshire so I got over it! The kids never complained once, It's the adults that do, and that's because the kids keep dragging you back into the chilly water! There are a few hot tubs and a heated pool so just plan to use them here and there. If it's sunny out, no problem. The rides are great and the wave pool is fun. Free tubes whenever you want them and if you get there right around opening you can find a nice group of chairs, they're everywhere, and settle in for the day. I usually set up near wave pool. The lines can be long but that's true everywhere. Once you go here kids will want to come back, over and over!!

Great water park for all ages!!! Lots of spots to set up base for the family and so many different types of water slides for all levels of daring. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the area, and you can also pack lunch and take in coolers to make a day of it. There was a family birthday party going on while we were there too.
