“Nothing Special, Terrible Service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2012

This is just a room with a bed, a fireplace with a noisy timer, and staff that could give a rat's patoot about your stay. No internet connection in any of the rooms - you have to walk down to the main building and wait in line for one of the two lobby PCs to become available. When we asked about the 'wireless internet in each unit' we were first told 'Oh, we didn't know there was a problem," and then the next day it was "The hurricane knocked the antenna down," and the third day it was "there's some guy that's supposed to fix it but he's in Hyannis, MA and rides a motor scooter so we don't know when he'll arrive, " and on day 4 it was "Oh, we weren't aware of the problem." Each day a new lie, and even some jokes from the staff, including one woman who said 'that stupid internet thing hasn't worked in months. Avoid this place and find a nicer unit nearby where they have some interest in you returning in the future.

Room Tip: Request a room at another resort - don't stay here.

I'm sorry you did not have a good experience. We are aware of the internet issue and are currently looking into different solutions to the problem, but we understand your frustration. We have just made arrangements to increase the bandwidth substantially, in hopes that some issues may be eliminated. We realize our guests and owners expectations and are doing what we can within budget constraints to provide the best service possible.

We came to see the fall leaves of New England and we were lucky enough to be in the perfect place for everything!! In Season Resort Pollard Brook is at the very start of the Kancamagus Hwy that had the most glorious leaf color of any place we travelled while in New England. It had the fabulous leaf color, the quaint towns with churches and town squares nearby, covered bridges and waterfalls, maple sugar houses, apple orchards, etc. Inn Season had an on site concierge, Eric, that took you on daily trips to the main attractions in the area. He was very helpful about getting around and places to go if you did not go on the planned trips. It was just wonderful! We had a very good condo in the building called Mountainside or Mountainbrook. We slept with the window open each night listening to the sound of the brook cascading down the mountain right outside our window. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath, with firepace and balcony; it was very clean and nice--also maid service each day. We really had a wonderful experience here and recommend it anytime you want to see fall foliage.

Room Tip: Not all buildings have elevators, so be sure to ask when you make your reservation or check in.

This resort used to be nice but now it is not at all good. The mattresses are so bad..I developed back pain and ended up sleeping on the floor. They have not replaced mattresses for years. The corridors are smelly..If I have a choice, I'll not go there again.

Room Tip: Don't have any. I think the suits are good but they are not meant for a family....but then agai...

I accidently posted my very favorable review of Inn Seasons Pollard Brook on their sister resorts' site, which is across the road. (South Mountain) . I asked TripAdvisor to correct my review. If not, please check my recommendations for a very nice place.

This was our second visit here and we really do like this place. Most important is the adventure concierge, Eric Pyre. He plans trips for the guests, and is low key, knowledgeable and funny. The rooms are actually apartments, with full living rooms, kitchens, separate bedrooms and balconies. We like the option of eating in, kicking back, or resting between the spectacular scenery and sightseeing. The indoor pool is always available, but during our mid September stay we were able to enjoy the outdoor pool (heated to 84 degrees) and hot tub. The air smells of balsam, since the area is part of the vast White Mountain National Forest, and the town of Lincoln is quaint. I know this is mostly a ski area, but it is beautiful any time of the year. My only complaint: only 1 washing machine was working at the time I needed to use it. Our room wasn't ready on time, but the front desk supervisor kept us apprised of the situation and even gave us WiFi for free, since we were in a building that didn't offer it. Even the construction of the new entryway didn't interfere with our visit. And if you do go, join Eric on his Moose Tour: a must-do trip in season.

Room Tip: We had a room in a building attached to the main building. We had a jacuzzi tub, and a fireplace...

Exchanging a timeshare week into Pollard Brook starting on the Sunday of a long weekend posed several problems for us. We didn't want to cross into the US from Canada on the holiday weekend nor be driving when some of the tourist trains we wanted to ride, that only ran on weekends, were open.

We solved this by booking for two additional nights as paid guests so we arrived Friday after two nights in Albany. This turned out to be wise as the cross country drive on twisting roads was tiring. The highways only run north and south in this area.

Fortunatly, we were able to have the same one bedroom unit for our entire stay. It was spacious, clean, well equipt and suited us well. WIFI dropped out too frequently over the weekend when the resort was busy but settled down once many guests left.

Daily garbage collection was nice. I presume this is done as bears can be a problem if garbage is not put in an animal proof container.

While just past the town of Lincoln making a car mandatory, good food shopping (including fresh lobsters at a very reasonable price) restaurants and touristy shopping was close. Laundry room was efficient and clean - take quarters or get them at the front desk.

Staff was friendly, pools and all common areas clean and some activities were provided although we didn't use any of them. Children's play area and a basketball hoop are also available.

Plan on making your own fun, enjoy the quiet fresh air and be sure to look for trains to ride!

Room Tip: Specify if you can't manage stairs as there are a lot to some units.

My husband and I came over Labor Day weekend 2012 to get away and for our 2 year anniversary. The room was great. Nice and quiet. There were actually dishes left in the dishwasher. I thought that was kind of disgusting. But we really just needed a couple of days to relax. We spent most of our time in the outdoor and indoor pool. And also of course the Hot Tub and Sauna. For fun we went to the Arcade downstairs and it needs some work. While some of the games work, I would say over half of them don't. The Arcade needs an update. The Hot Tub was nice outside, but it could use a clean up as well (Paint Job.....etc.) Overall, we got out of it what we wanted and came for. A nice relaxing, easy going trip. We thought that Fraser and one of the younger girl managers were GREAT! However, the evening staff we had two of the nights we were there were not at all friendly. I would almost say that they were borderline RUDE. Not sure if the rude older lady and younger man realize that many people would not return to a place because of rude staff members. It is funny reading these reviews, because many people seemed to comment on the same things that my husband I did before we read the reviews. Example; Rude night staff. Dishes left in sink. Etc.
The jacuzzi in our room was awesome.
Check out was easy and great. Not sure we would stay again, but I suppose if we were looking for a nice quiet weekend again, we might.
