“A nice resort”
Reviewed 14 February 2011

My wife and I stayed here Feb. 4th - 11th, 2011 as part of a time-share exchange with our Club Navigo ownership. It was very cooooooold outside!

We stayed in the Jackman Building, by requesting a room there after hearing about how nice the rooms were there from others in their reviews here. It was nice, and very similar to the set-up of the rooms at InnSeasons South Mountain, which about a mile or so down the road, and at which we have stayed before. For some reason, though, they wouldn't let me exchange at South Mtn. The daily towel exchange and garbage pick up was a plus, but we really didn't need to have our towels changed out daily. Once, we received a phone call to our room asking if there was anything that we needed, which kind of surprised me, but that was nice....we didn't. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

They put us on the first floor, which usually means that there are not any stairs or elevators to deal with, but....not in the Jackman building! You enter on the 3rd or 4th floors and go down! So, we always had to take the stairs up and down four floors, or go to the center of the building after entering at one of the ends of the building and take the slowest elevator I have ever seen in my life. Plus....we got a lot of exercise; minus...it was a real PITA getting into and out of our building. Also, the people who they put just above us were noisy and we always heard them banging around. If we ever go back, or if you do and you stay in the Jackman building, ask for an upstairs room...preferably the 4th floor. It probably has a better view, too.

The parking lots were constantly being plowed as the snow kept piling up. They did it at least once a day. Never did see any actual pavement, though. Just paved snow.

The one "fault" that I could say about this place was kind of a big one, to me. They told us that we could have internet access in our room, for a charge of $25 for the week, which I reluctantly agreed to. All of our home resorts with Club Navigo offer it free to all of their owners at all of their resorts. Anyway, they have this modem / ethernet box that you "buy" from them and plug into any wall socket and hook up you computer to it. Supposedly, the internet runs through the electrical system there. Well, we couldn't get it to even start to work. I called the office to tell them about this and they told me that you can't plug the box and the computer into the same pair of outlets. So we tried opposing different outlets everywhere and nothing worked. They sent a guy up to our room who brought another box and tried unsuccessfully himself. He told us, "this happens all of the time". We never did get the thing to work after they even rebooted the entire system, so then I was told from the girl at the office, "sorry", and that was that. They refunded my $25. They do have free wi-fi in the main building lounge, but the Jackman building is about 1/4 mile away, so whenever we wanted to use the internet, we had to make a trip out of it, which was to say the least, very inconvenient. I had thought they would have offered to have us change rooms where it may work, but they didn't. It probably didn't work anywhere, anyway.

We may return some day, but next time I'll know what to expect and what to ask for, specifically. It was a nice place to stay, if you play your cards right and request and receive the right options.

We stayed at Pollard Brook two weeks ago with our four teenagers and thoroughly enjoyed it. We got the 2-bedroom suite which was plenty of room for all of us. The master suite was very large but we spent so much time with the kids, that we only needed a place to sleep. We are time-share owners but with a different place. I was just looking for a place that was better than a hotel, decent rates, and could satisfy our family of 6 for one evening. The boys skied at Cannon Mtn. which was about 12 minutes from the suite. Our balcony view of Loon Mountain was absolutely gorgeous! We all enjoyed the pool as well as the outdoor hot tub. The hot tub was truly the icing on the cake because we were in the middle of the snow, but the water was so warm! The pool is very large too...bigger than we expected. We cooked dinner and breakfast in the room in order to save some money. The kitchen had ample cooking utensils. If we plan on going to Lincoln again as a family, we would definitely go back! The only thing that was a downfall was that there was no place to eat at the hotel for snacks or continental breakfast.

We stayed at Pollard Brook about a week ago. I have to say I was very impressed with the room that we stayed in. Very nice and large along with our own suite for the parents. The pool was warm on Saturday, cooler on Sunday. I was a little upset when we arrived and a British girl said that someone wanted to stop by our room on Saturday morning and give us a welcome gift. I specifically said to her "Now this is not a sales call to sell us points or anything correct?" She said oh no we just want to see how you like the room and if everything is okay. Saturday morning came around and our salesman showed up with some pancake mix and a few other small things. First thing out of his mouth was...........Hey have you heard about the point system? I explained that we bought for $7000 and we are trying to sell for 75% less so no interest and then I asked if this was the points system they tried to hard sell us before for over $4200 and he said Yes. So for an appointment that was to find out if we liked the room we never even got asked. The only other downfall was they automatically shut off the key to the room 1/2 hour before check out time. So needless to say my family got locked out of the room while trying to load our car. Just a bad way to end off our trip. Overall I would say the pool is fabulous, hot tub is the same, the sauna could use a sanding to get rid of all of the swear writing that fills the walls and benches. Not good when you have kids. Nice place if you can afford it.

The rooms were very clean, the staff was helpful and the property is well taken care of. There weren't any issues in our room but we did notice that there was a customer at the front desk that lost his temper about something. Loon Mountain is less than a mile down the road and there are lots of restaurants (good restaurants) in town. It was a great place to stay.

Reviewed 23 July 2010

We reserved a week at Innseason at Pollard Brook through Interval International for the July 4th week with 4 children ages 11, 10, 8 and 6. Having not done too much research other than the location, I was a bit worried after we booked and read the extensive negative reviews on tripadvisor. To my absolute surprise, we arrived to a very pleasant lobby and helpful group of folks at the desk. We arrived about an hour before check in and were politely told that our unit was not quite ready, and they took our cell phone number to call us as soon as it was available. Very fair. We also asked for the Jackman units upon our arrival (based on reviews from tripadvisor) and again, was politely told that they do try to accommodate requests, and it sounded as though had we called beforehand, they would have tried to book us into one of those units. We stayed in the Pemigawasset building (I think it was called--up the long drive and first building to the left). Our view was not great--the highway, but we really didn't care because we did not spend a lot of time in the room gazing outside. The unit was updated with granite countertops, fully equipped with pots/pans, etc. The unit was spacious and had a murphy bed in the living room that served its purpose well. The unit was probably the most quite I have ever experienced--there were people on either side and above us, but you would never have known! Loved the daily trash take-out and towels, and beach towel exchange at the desk. Midweek cleaning was really a bonus!

The only downside we had was that we went during a heatwave. There are only window air conditioning units in the bedrooms and the main area got very hot. They do provide a box fan, and luckily we brought some of our own fans as well which helped circulate the air conditioning.

We used the outdoor pool frequently after our daily outing and it was well kept and clean. Very pleased! The location is absolutely great and had dinner at the Common Man (highly recommend) and the downtown area is wonderfully quaint. We also took day trips to Echo lake, Newfound Lake, Storyland, and of Course, the Basin at Franconia Notch and hiked to two of the waterfalls (bring your bathing suit for swimming!). Without a doubt a fantastic vacation, I would highly recommend!

Stayed one week with wife and two sons, five and nine, in early July. The room was average, but the air conditioning was a wall unit only in the master bedroom, so it was warm in the living room where the boys slept on the Murphy bed. The outdoor pool was perfect for the boys. The location of the resort was convenient to different attractions we visited that week, such as Clark's Trading Post, Attitash Mountain, Mt. Washington and Franconia Notch.
