The Village Of Loon Mountain
Ranked #6 of 20 Hotels in Lincoln
Reviewed 29 December 2012

The village at loon is located directly across from loon mountain. You must take a shuttle but it runs continuously which deposits you right at the desired mountain location.
Most rooms are condos but we rent a specific one called whaleback unit which is privately owned.
We have rented several others and depending upon the owners the quality varies tremendously.
The pool area is dated but fine for kids
The gym has excellent weights but awful machines
The game room is popular with the kids and you can rent movies or get snacks at the pool area
The outdoor hot tub is fun but overrun with too many people to be relaxing.

Room Tip: Ask to see photos of the unit you are renting specifically.

Stayed in two bedroom for ski vacation with teenagers. Location was great being across street from slopes. Able to cook all meals which definitely helps with budget. Unit was older with large bedroom below and smaller bedroom above. Main level has kitchen and dining/sitting area. Did not use sports/swim area so cannot provide feedback.

We stayed in their two bedroom condo. The condo itself was clean ,but dated. However, the location was wonderful. We were amazed at all the activities we could do in such a small area. We had our three teenage children with us. My brother and his family also stayed at this property. We loved the Lincoln area. We recommend the zip lining ,Franconia State park, the cog train up Mt. Washington and the hiking in the area. Although we spent little time at the resort ,the front desk was always helpful. In fact after we had checked out, we were already in Vermont when I realized I had left all of our travel documents in a drawer in the bedroom. I called the resort and they said they would look and get back to me. I had a call within twenty minute telling me they had found the documents but also a set of car keys. We hadn't even missed those. We had a rental since we had flown into NY, and those keys were to our car in long term parking in Austin,Texas . They over nighted all the documents and keys to my brother's home in NY, Which arrived before our flight back to Texas. Thank you Villages of Loon Mountains.

I love loon and would recommend it with no hesitations. It is a beautiful place to go hiking in the spring/ summer and a magnificent place to go snowboarding/ skiing safe non crowded slopes the breakfast places all have local maple syrup and hot flapjacks before you have a great day out on the slopes!

The resort is off the highway & feels secluded w/trees surrounding a large parking lot. The older 3-story buildings overlook the pools, tennis courts, & mountains. Check in easy w/the very friendly, informative, & helpful staff. 2 small maintenance issues we had were dealt w/immediately, even after 6PM. Our 2-bedroom plus loft was quiet w/some pipe noises & voices from people outside in the parking area. Master bath & bedroom on the first floor, guest bedroom, bath, & loft upstairs. The balcony, accessed by sliding glass door, ran from the living area along the master bedroom w/view of the Loon Mountains. Baseboard heaters in every room, but surrounding units kept us toasty. The living/dining area, 20 x 14 ft, had a gas fireplace, flat screen TV & DVD, fairly firm cushioned seating, & bright lamps, also a vaulted ceiling w/fan to move the heat & a window right across from the loft. Narrow kitchen w/limited counter & cabinet space, but 2 people could work in it at the same time. The activities offered were done by their sister resort down the road, but looked interesting and reasonably priced. Master bath, 7 x 8 ft, w/tub/shower, single sink w/small counter space, & 8 newer towel sets. Bedroom had king size mattress, 1.5 years old, already worn out. Loft & second bedroom each w/2 twin beds. All beds had good box springs & the mattresses were same age as the king size bed, but not as worn out, tho still too soft for us. The bath, 3 x 6 ft, had same set up as the other.

Room Tip: upstairs nicer than bottom floors for great views

We had a 1 bedroom. It was clean and very roomy. The fireplace was so relaxing after a day of hiking! The king size bed was comfortable but the quilt was a little weak. the kitchen had everything we needed.
I cant comment on any of the activities except the pool. We were at the pool every night before bed. It was the hilight of my sons trip. The pool was average as far as hotel pools we have been to. It was over chlorinated but i guess that better than underchlorinated. We had the pool mostly to ourselves the entire week. The hot tub needed some touch up but was adequate. The biggest drawback of the pool was having to walk outside to get to it. They do have locker rooms and showers so we just brought a change of clothes so we didnt have to walk back wet.

Overall our stay was great and any of my negative comments leaves me feeling a little nit picky.

There are some negative reports on this property, and no doubt it is an older place, but there is nothing wrong with that if it is maintained and this one is maintained VERY well. There was evidence all over the place that things had been replaced and renovated. The Staff was marvelous, so helpful. We had a room in the main building and it was quiet and had a wonderful view.
I wasn't real happy about the pool and workout area being ran by a separate group. No one ever opens the pool early like I like, but you couldn't get to the work out or game area before 9 or after 9.
But for convenience, it is great... Just a short distance to town and Lincoln is a very happy and quaint town without all the cookie cutter stores you see in most tourist areas. Be sure and take a look at all the state park areas and make the 100 mile drive and stop at all the park areas. Very nicely done N. H.
