My boyfriend and I took a fall foliage trip to the area this weekend, we thought this place was so fun, it had great views of the mountains, right across from Indian Head Rock which is a cool thing to see and take photos of, right near everything you can hop on down into town/kanc highway/white mountains national park with a 5 min drive, or stay on route 3 and go to franconia and theres a whole bunch of sites to see there trails and waterfalls, the mountains up the road were beautiful heading from the resort toward Sugar Hill, NH a 15 min drive well worth it beautiful views!!!! The place was cozy, and fun had outdoor and indoor heated pools and hot tub, had an arcade game room, you can climb the viewing station there and get some great views/photos, staff was super friendly, room was cozy and nice, huge tvs in rooms, great view of shadow lake, free paddle boating....100% recommended for all ages!!

Room Tip: Lake View Room top floor recommended, pretty view off balcony any season!

i have been going to this resort every year since childhood. my last stay was with my own children last year. it is a nice resort,a bit dated now and i do see a lot of the hotels in the area have more amenities at a lower rate. including in room spa tubs for us hard-working parents :) i would however love if they updated and would return yearly. there is a game room and indoor pool. the cottages across the road from main lobby are cute but not when jumping in the car to use the pool across the street especially in the winter not really ideal

We stayed here because it seemed to be the last hotel room in Franconia for Columbus Day weekend on short notice. Overall, we were very happy -- very comfortable place to come home to after a long day of hiking and exploring. Spacious room with private balcony with a view of Indian Head (we stayed in the Notch rooms across the street from the main complex). Comfortable linens (real comforter, no foam blankets here), clean room, microwave and TV. The main complex is a bit dated, and we did not visit the restaurant or lounge. (You'll find much better places to eat using TA.) Second sink outside the bathroom always a plus. Pool, jacuzzi, and lake looked nice though we did not use them. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Came here with my boyfriend and our son Oct 6-7th. We had beautiful mountain views right outside our door which was great! The room was clean and the 50" was a plus but for the price we payed I feel it was very out dated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and we both woke up with a back ache. There were loud noises going on all night. We had breakfast in the restaurant the next morning and it was terrible!!!!! Both forks in my napkin were dirty and the pancakes were tasteless along with nasty home fries. The only positive thing I took away from the restaurant were the beautiful views. We loved the gift shop, lots to choose from!

We LOVED the Indian Head Resort! We stayed there 2 nights as part of a fall foliage tour. When we drove up to the resort, I had serious reservations (pun intended) when I saw it was similar to a motel, where the rooms open to the street. The rooms themselves aren't anything special, but they are spacious and definitely have a resort feel to them. But it is the view that is truly amazing. Each room has a private balcony and the far wall is all glass (sliding glass doors and windows). The rooms look out onto a beautiful lake, and I would highly recommend taking the 1.25 mile stroll around the lake. There is a beautiful little brook behind the lake, along with paddle boats you can use to get to the island in the middle of the lake. It was breathtaking, along with the views from the lounge. The food and wait staff left a little to be desired, which is why I didn't rate the property a 5. But the view more than makes up for it. The gift shop is huge and there is a look-out tower, but you have to pay to use it. I would highly recommend the Indian Head resort to anyone. The view is well worth it!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: The view is beautiful from any room!

My husband and I had stayed at Indian Head a few years back due to a wedding we were attending. We had a 2nd floor balcony room across the street with an awesome view. Even have a picture he took on our living room wall. So, when we heard friends were visiting recently, we didn't hesitate to recommend it to them. My husband surprised me recently when he told me he had booked 2 nights this past weekend for my birthday. The second surprise was how much this hotel has let maintenance go. The slider door out to the private balcony was filthy! The hotel prides itself on its views. Ever try to look out a filthy slider? Really hard to appreciate a mountain view through a filthy slider! I left a note for the housekeeper to clean it and the next day. We got no response at all and we realized a seal must be broken because the dirt is actually between the panes of glass! In addition, our bathtub faucet was steadily dripping the whole time we were there? Again, no one tending to basic maintenance needs? But, they had no trouble charging us a very hefty rate for the stay. While the hotel does have a lot of amenities, it's the little things that can make or break a vacation. Needless to say, our next stop in the White Mountains will NOT include Indian Head, nor will we recommend it to friends again.

A reasonable one night stop off point on a tour of New England. Not really our thing as we never had any intention of using any of the facilities except dining which was ok. The bar was under staffed and there was nowhere quiet to enjoy a drink due to live music in the lounge. Our room was in a block over the road which really suited us. It was lovely and quiet, well quipped although not sure what the second basin was for outside the bathroom!
