I stayed here in April 2012 for 5 days skiing with my school. The rooms were a good size with two double beds. The staff were amazing and were very good at answering any questions about the local area or the hotel. The hotel is located about 6 miles from Loon mountain and the main town on Lincoln. The only negative about the hotel would the quality of the food which was often cold.

My first disappointment over Woodwards can be found in the rooms themselves, paper thing walls, caving in bathroom ceiling and poorly cleaned rooms immediately provided a poor impression. However this was only furthered by the appalling food. During my stay, i encountered cold vegetables, processed 'turkey' alongside a pasta dish posing as macaroni cheese. Whilst admittedly i am now culinary expert, it was obvious this was unacceptable and really did help to ruin my stay, especially coupled with the rude chef. The only respite for the Resort was the pool and Jacuzzi, whilst being of good size, left one of our party with an infection after cutting their leg in the pool. Whilst it is hard to correlate the pool hygiene directly to the infection, it is likely to be the most probable factor, rounding off a miserable trip.

Room Tip: Don't go.

Woodward's is loaded with "charm", family friendly, has a lot to offer and great value.

We stayed for two nights in August of 2011. The beds were comfortable enough for us, the room was clean and of typical "motel" size. Like any older motel, it's dated and not the least bit fancy. But the rates are very reasonable for what you get, especially if you're a AAA member and get the AAA discount. They have an indoor and outdoor pool. There's a nice little stream and duck pond on the premises. The location is very convenient... a short drive to Clark's Trading Post, Flume Gorge, Franconia Notch, Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain to name a few. And it's literally right next door to Whale's Tale Water Park.

They also offer a great meal plan. The cost is about $30/day per adult. With that, you get a full dinner and full breakfast at their restaurant. And kids eat FREE off the kids menu for each payed adult! The food at the restaurant is very good and you can chose anything off the menu. The dinner menu has a good selection of steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken, etc. The kids menu has the typical kid favorites.. pizza, grilled cheese, chicken fingers etc. The breakfast menu includes eggs, pancakes, french toast, omelets etc. For my family of four we got two full dinners and two full breakfasts for $120, which is quite a deal in my opinion.

I would highly recommend staying at Woodward's for a pleasant stay at a very reasonable price!

We stayed here over Feb. Vacation. We had very specific vacation needs : We wanted a fireplace, a jacuzzi, an indoor pool, and a place with a separate bedroom and living area for the kids to sleep. Surprising there are very few places in the White Mountains that have all of those amenities and Lincoln Suites was the cheapest by far so we booked it.

The property is composed of the Woodwards Resort and the Inn of Lincoln. The Inn of Lincoln does not have an onsite front desk during the winter so we had to check in at the Woodward Resort about a 2minute drive (or two buildings over). Not a big deal.
The woman at the front desk was very kind and warm and informed us of the many amenities that Woodwards had to offer ( you can use both properties when you stay at either one).

It should be noted that even though front desk is in another property, we ordered new sheets & towels and they delivered them for us within a few minutes- which is good since it was during a snow storm!
The Inn is interesting..Looks like it used to be a motel that they enclosed in glass to give interior hallways. It's kind of cool because it made little "front porches" and they put chairs out . Kind of cute.
We were taken aback by the free-standing indoor pool, but thankfully there is an underground tunnel that leads to it. The tunnel was poorly lit and a little chilly- but at least we did not have to walk outside.

Upon entering the room everyone was super excited! The room was truly a suite:
Nice sized- living/dining area with a large L shaped sleeper sectional, breakfast table with 4 chairs, closet, and TV. There are mirrors everywhere and my daughter LOVED that. There is also a large window that you can leave open to look out onto the "porch" .
There was a galley kitchen with full-sized appliances. We were not expecting this, but it's good to know that if we came back or were staying for longer we could cook, bake, microwave and store our food. The kitchen came fully stocked with pots & pans, plates, utensils, etc.

The bathroom was amazing! bigger than most bedrooms! A large 3 person jacuzzi (again surrounded by mirrors) a separate shower and separate water closet. We were surprised that the extra large vanity only had one sink, but we loved the woodwork all around. It gave it a "rustic mountain lodge" feel.

The bedroom was also extremely large with a queen sized bed with built-ins and lots of lighting. The carpet was berber-like and the gas fireplace had a flush hearth with lots of room in front to play family games. There was a flat screen TV in the bedroom. No dvd, but you could easily bring a small one and plug it in.

We were in heaven for about 10 minutes ...then things started to reveal themselves.
First was the couch. We have an infant and my husband did not feel comfortable putting him on it. It looked...extremely dirty. Not physically dirty, but more worn. The couch was brown in places when you could tell that the original color was gray. It grossed us out. Our 10 year-old didn't mind it, but we opted not to put the baby on it.
There was a full mattress pull out that had sheets on it, but the sheets did not look clean which is why we ordered more. I hate to complain about sleep sofas because you know what you are getting into when you sleep on one. It was as to be expected: thin & uncomfortable. But again, our daughter didn't mind. The blankets were thin, itchy, & scratchy. They did not look as though they had been washed and they smelled. We didn't have her use them.

There pillows were absolutely horrible flat as could be. And not enough for everyone. No good night's sleep in this room.
The bed in the bedroom was just as uncomfortable as the sleep sofa. Worst sleep of my life. Would have done better to sleep on the carpet.
The comforter and bed sham in the bedroom was stained and smelled of other people's sweat. Eeew! Like they also had not been washed in some time.
There also were not enough towels for everyone.

There were two windows in the bedroom and in the corners there were dead flies EVERYWHERE. In the window sills and all over the floors. So gross. I don't understand how or why since the rest of the room was VERY clean, not immaculate, but clean.

The fireplace was also a disappointment. Mostly because almost everywhere in this area has jacuzzi suites, but we really wanted a fireplace to sit in front of after a long day on the slopes. The gas fireplace is run by a pilot which means it always stays on even when you turn it off. I have stayed at several hotels with gas fireplaces and have never seen this.
It creeped me out. Mostly because there were NO carbon monoxide detectors in the room!
This is the law in Massachusetts. There was also a sign that said "for your safety PLEASE leave the door open when using the fireplace". Ummm? defeats the purpose if I want to have romantic alone time with my husband. There was a carbon monoxide detector OUTSIDE the bedroom. I don't get it.
Needless to say I slept with the window open the entire time because I was sketched out by the fp. It should also be noted that the knob to turn the fp on and off (again not really "off", just low) was BROKEN and kept going around and around.

The last gripe of the place was pool. Carpeting everywhere. I can't even begin to tell you how unsanitary that is. There was a large jacuzzi. It was very nice and the pool was decent sized. The building was warm and the pool temperature was great. But the carpeting around it ...I just couldn't help but think of all of the bacteria breeding in it with a heated pool room.
Also- NO towels. As in ZERO. You have to bring your own.

It should also be noted that if you are coming here for sking or to visit story land, good luck.
It is only close to Cannon Mountain (which is a great place).
Story Land, Cranmore. Attitash are all an hour away and it is a very sketchy (but beautiful) mountain road to get to these places. No gas stations either.

All in all it depends on your taste. The people that we saw staying there looked like common folk who didn't mind the cons of the place. For us it wasn't terrible, but I can't say that I will be back.

Room Tip: The Woodward Resort has an onsite Restaurant and they offer a deal where for 29 dollars pp you can e...

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. Please allow us to aplogize as we were not aware of these problems during your stay with us. We would have offered to move you to a different room, or we could have dealt with their problems immediately while they were here to make their stay more enjoyable. The sofas in the suites have all been professionally cleaned, and housekeeping does change the sheets every time the room is cleaned. When the new owners purchased the hotel, they bought brand new mattresses, and started extensive renovations. We do have extra supplies on hand, so if a room runs out of towels, we can bring them more, or anything else they may need. Our fireplace is an older model, and it does have a small pilot light that does stay lit. We have recently added carpeting to our indoor pool building. Both of our properties have carpeting in the indoor pool areas. Since we have put it in, we have received many compliments from our repeat guests. We do hope you will return and give us another chance in the future.

Woodwards is a well-run, large motel located within a 15 minute drive to either Canon or Loon Alpine ski areas and about 30 minutes away from Bretton Woods crosscountry ski area. The motel consists of multiple buildings offering a variety of room accomodations. It has a heated indoor pool with a large jacuzzi. The on-premises restaurant provides ample portions of consistently good food at reasonable prices. The prime rib is excellent. When we come to ski in this area we usually stay at Woodwards because it never disappoints.

Room Tip: Rooms are available in the same building as the indoor pool, so the convenience has to be traded off...

This was our first time staying at this hotel. Last fall I booked a suite with two double beds. When we arrived the room only had 1 double bed. Kind of a problem considering there were three of us. I called the front desk and they told me that they didn't have a double bed room available that night but would move us the next day but the room did have pull out sofa. We couldn't use the the pull out - it was so old. My husband had to sleep on the sofa! Plus, I agree with the other reviewer - the room was dark, dirty and smelly (it was on the second floor). BUT the next day they moved us to a room on the first floor - it was like a different hotel. The furniture was new, all the lights worked, no funky smell - it was a great room with a BEAUTIFUL spa bathroom. The staff was nice and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to go back and we had a nice stay. We ate at the restaurant just for breakfast on our departure day since our room had a kitchen - it was fine - typical breakfast but the waitress was very nice.
