“Great Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2011

Because my stay at the Thayers Inn was at such a low price, I was expecting the worse. However, my stay was a great value; very comfortable bed, clean rooms and very quiet. The Inn is very old, but historic and they lack a pool. These facts may disapoint some. Yet for value, cleaness it's a great stay.

We were looking forward to our stay here especially after reading its history and we thought it would be a welcome departure from all the modern hotels we were staying in on our road trip. The hotel is obviously very old which is part of its charm and accounts for the reasonable price of the stay. However, it could do with some basic updating. Some general maintainance would go a long way and help it to keep its charm. Unfortunately our bathroom was not very clean with numerous hairs on the floor and a lid off a bottle. Also be careful when showering as the water temperature does fluctuate. The town itself is nice with a great restaurant/bar across the road and the hotel's location is very good.

This Inn is incredibly quaint and full of history. Staying here really takes you back to the 1800s - the slanting floors and crooked door frames add to the charm. It's not luxurious or spacious, but comfortable and a nice change from boring chain hotels. We have stayed at a lot of small B&Bs in Europe, and this Inn was similar. We had a great time sitting on the balcony, drinking a beer, and watching the sunset and people walk by in the street below. Right on the main street, this hotel is extremely convenient.
Go to Polly's Pancakes for breakfast - it was superb!

It had been 25 years since we had visited and the atmosphere and ambiance was still there. Now they had baths in each room and AC; before we had one bath on each floor as was the design of the time when it was built in 1850. The area is convenient for walking to many differerent restaurants and businesses and it was fun to explore. The rooms were smallish but indicative of the era it was built. You can sit on the upper front and rear porticos and enjoy the view and chat with guests from around the world. You must remember that the establishment has tried to retain the character of the time it was begun and view your visit accordingly. We enjoyed our time there and will try to return sooner than the next quarter century!

Depending on what you are expecting, Thayers Inn may impress or disappoint. It is rich in history and its location is superb. Located within walking distance to Chutters, a movie theater and fine dining, Thayers Inn is extraordinarily convenient. It is old and the rooms are outdated, but this only adds to its charm depending on how you look at it. While there check out the staged rooms and ask the desk for a key to the cupola. It offers remarkable views of Mount Washington and the quaint downtown of Littleton.

We stayed in a family suite with our 4 year old son. The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet. The continental breakfast is marginal--however, the diner is a short walk or take a short drive down to the Coffee Pot and have a more substantial breakfast if you desire something hot .We would stay here again! If you have youngsters be careful of hot water tap from sinks in room--it gets VERY hot!

I stayed here for one night with my wife while vacationing in New England. Thayers Inn is centrally located in Littleton. It's just a short walk from several shops and good restaurants, including the one below the hotel.

My only complaint is that our room got very hot at night, making it difficult to sleep. I don't know whether I could have adjusted the heater in the room, but I didn't see any instructions and didn't ask the next day since we were checking out anyways. I ended up having to crack open a window to let the cold air offset the heater.

Otherwise, the accommodations were good. Parking behind the Inn, wireless internet, and a continental breakfast were included with our rate. We booked through hotels.com because the cancellation policy was better than what is described on the hotel's website.

I would definitely recommend Thayers Inn and would stay there again, but I'd make sure I understood how to control the heater.
