“Best in the Neighborhood!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

We celebrated my Dad's birthday at Stella's last night. Try the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach! yum! Tomato sauce better than mom's. The arugula and beet salad-- fantastic. Best of all, the staff is wonderful and not pretentious -- it's a great neighborhood place to eat well.

“WOW”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2013 via mobile

You pull in the parking lot and see a post office bank. When you enter the doors locked Stella is equate little market and deli. Behind that is a lovely restaurant. We ordered the herb encrusted crusted filet mignon grilled in black truffle butter with local fingerling potatoed and baby string beans. Delicious. Lovely homemade bread as well.

“good food in bustling noisy setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013

I went for dinner twice so far and both times, food was good, service friendly and competent and the atmosphere casual and lively. Extensive menu so you can find something to eat even if you don't want pasta or pizza. Though there is nothing exceptional about the food it is freshly prepared, a must in my book.

The downside is the impossible noise. Be sure to go very early for dinner if you want to hear yourself think. On the other hand, part os it's charm is the boisterous atmosphere...

“Looks are deceiving . . .”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2013

We drove by this humble little place (formerly a hardware store) on previous visits and only went in upon recommendation of a local. We could not have been more surprised by the delicious food and friendly service. I had a caprese panini that was delicious. More than that, the mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil were extremely fresh. My husband was also pleased with his sandwich. Service was friendly and prompt. The menu looks quite interesting and we are sorry that we had driven by this place without having tried it before--although locals know it well! The front of the restaurant is a deli that offers freshly made takeout.

“Wonderful Gem in a small town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2013

We went to Stella's on the advice of the host of the B&B Breakfast on the Connecticut. (Another great place). The entrance is a small market and deli counter with wonderful things to enjoy. We were quickly seated, it was busy, but a bit late shortly before closing time. The ambience was warm and friendly, classy but casual. Our server was very good. My wife ordered the Stella Blue salad, and my daughter the Baby Spinach salads. Both were very fresh and delicious. We also ordered fried ravioli which came with a very fresh tomato sauce for dipping. It was a great appetizer and very delicious. As it was late the only entree we ordered was the Eggplant Rollatini where they eggplant is thinly sliced and used like pasta, filled with cheese filling and baked with a red sauce. Again this was wonderful. The prices were great, the service wonderful and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
The owner tries to service local sustainable and organic and has done a fantastic job.
